    Carbon Fiber Wrap Opinions

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I was tossing the idea around about wrapping the hood, roof and trunk lid (if possible) with 3M carbon fiber wrap. I think the trunk would be the most difficult to do with the contours, etc but I am not an expert nor would I be doing the work. I looked around for a tasteful CF hood and they just don't exist. My S4 is Phantom Black so it wouldn't be such a contrast and might provide a nice accent rather than a huge change. Thoughts?

The wrap manufacturer is really irrelevant, it was more of the concept of it than anything else but I will look into it, thanks!

My .02: fake carbon fiber is like putting RS/M/AMG badges on a base car or stuffing your shorts with a big cucumber. In each situation you look like a big dick.

Flame suit on, who cares. Fake shit is fake. And if you buy a real carbon fiber hood, paint it to match your car. Yeah, yeah paint adds weight. So does the AC, stereo, carpets blah blah blah but I don't see many people deleting that unless it is a dedicated track car.

As far as I know, no one makes a CF hood for the B8.5 S4. I would rather go that option but it's not in the cards (unless I have missed something). I have the Prestige CF inlays on the interior and the hood would go well with the ECS rear spoiler and badging.

To each their own and all that but yeah CF wrap always comes across as cheesy.

If you are going to put a CF hood on your car you better be skinny as a rail. Most guys would shed more weight from their car with a salad than a carbon fibre hood lol.

Have you looked for CF hoods? I am sure a link was posted for them here last year.

Yeah, I hate fake crap on any car. Surprised someone would to this on a nice S4, but I digress.

Not sure why everyone on here is hating. Like I think the guy gets the point that many of you don't like carbon fiber wraps, but don't be d*cks about it....

From having a small vinyl business in NJ, if you were to go with a carbon fiber wrap, I would spend the money and go with "AVERY DENNISON AVERY DENNISON 1005EZRS HIGH GLOSS PRINTED CARBON FIBER". This stuff is awesome compared to the flat/matte look of 3M. Yes, it is considerably more expensive than typical CF vinyl but it looks much better in person.

If you have any questions feel free to send me a pm.
