Is there way to update maps?

once logged in to MyAudi halfway thru the page to the right click on "Audi connect® services and Key User Registration"

From there click on "Map Update"

I ordered but have not received it yet. Julian's instruction says the car should not be running while doing the update. He suggests to use battery charger instead and use volume knob to turn on MMI.

I have battery charger but am worried that the MMI will shutdown after 10-15 minutes.

Did you run the engine while updating or use battery charger and turn in MMI with volume knob?

I used a battery tender for the updates. Not what was recommended. I did firmware update, drove vehicle for a day then did maps following day. Lights off, a/c off, seat heat front and rear off..... nothing on in the vehicle.
No foot on gas, don’t press start button just press the volume button and the mmi will open and you are ready to update. Mine worked perfectly, didn’t shut down or off during install. It will restart, but it will indicate that in the instructions he sends you. Good luck

I was pleasantly surprised to see that these cards are OEM cards with serial numbers and Audi logo. Everything went very smoothly. Follow his instructions to the teeth. It took about 2 hours total so be patient. I use the battery charger during the update as instructed.

Quick question for you. I'm assuming yours is a C7 (not 7.5) and you have Bose. After the update, do you now have a "Subwoofer" level control option? Someone mentioned in a thread HERE that they now have subwoofer level. Can you please confirm if this is the case as many of us would love to have this functionality?

No, the instruction asks not to upgrade the Bose system as it has issue. I don't know what issue it is but it asks if I see Bose upgrade option is checked, I have to stop the upgrade. The Bose system/option is the same as before

Curious if anyone has any thoughts on how to resolve an issue I'm having. I not so recently (back in March) purchased firmware + map + activation upgrades for my 2010 S5 from UpgradeMyAudi.net. I was able to successfully update the firmware and the maps by following all of their tutorials, but the license file/script will not successfully apply itself to my system. After placing the SD card into slot 1 or 2 and waiting for minutes, nothing happens. I've tried rebooting the MMI, etc, still nothing. Adam at UpgradeMyAudi attempted to assist me early on, but my recent emails and support submissions have not been responded to for weeks now. I just placed another support ticket tonight in the hopes that this COVID mess is just delaying responses.

But, can anyone weigh in on the following?

1. Any familiarity w/ UpgradeMyAudi? Legitimate and legal upgrades, or no?
2. Any ideas of what else to try? I've got the license script they provide if anyone has any pointers on what to look for in the files.
3. Any other methods to get this activated?

2010 Audi S5 Coupe, USA
Prior Firmware was HNav_US_P0110_D1, 5.3.4 maps
Current Firmware is HNav_US_K0133_3_D1, 6.19.1 maps

Basically, maps are not activated and I get 'The navigation data is blocked' when accessing my nav system.

Are you referring to the code 03623? Something along the lines of software not licensed? If so I had that problem and found the way to fix it after a bit of searching.

Or did I read it to fast and the maps will not load at all? At first mine didn't work, I had to clear all codes,drive for a little bit,and then let the system reboot after shutting the car down. Then they magically started working for whatever reason.

Thanks, but no, I don't have that error code. I read about that one, but OBDEleven doesn't report that code. I do have 03276, Checking software version management. Adam assured me that this error could just stay there or I could go thru some recoding with something like VAGCOM, which I haven't purchased yet.

But I've driven around, waiting on the activation script, it has never popped up on the screen that it ran and no amount of driving seems to get it working. If I do a full reboot of the MMI system, when it comes back up, I have maps for a few minutes, then it flips to 'navigation data is blocked' again. It's my understanding that this is the behavior when the maps are not activated yet. Makes sense based on what I'm seeing.

Ok totally different scenario then. I have never dealt with upgrademyaudi, but were the discs and SD card OEM or a generic disc that was burned for you? I went with a guy from ebay, his name is on this thread I just can't remember it off the top of my head, and I received all OEM discs still in OEM packaging.

Yea, seems so (different issue). There were no discs, this was a download to create SD cards. The site claims they are legitimate/genuine Audi products, which may or may not be true. But their FAQ sections says 'we buy these straight from Audi'. And given the company is in the UK, seemed to offer these and more Audi/car related services, it felt legit vs something in some no-man's internet land or China type deal. So I took a chance. I've asked twice now in my last support tickets for assistance w/ a resolution or a refund. We'll see what happens. If I could get it activated by hook or crook, I'd drop the issue w/ them and just move on, not worth my time. But $160 is $160, especially if I have to go pay the local Audi dealership to un-screw my MMI Nav system. I expect that to be 2-2.5x more money.

I agree,it's not something I'd walk away from without some sort of resolution for the cost. I paid a similar amount and he was from GB but was still mailed disc and SD card. It sounds like they bought a couple different versions,maybe lol, and just email the files to everyone as they pay.

I know when I bought mine he wanted a pic of which firmware I had and what stereo I had in the car. Did they ask you any details or just send you a file and say your good? Either way I'm sure this will be something they will need to make good with.

Here's my experience, it may or may not apply to you (My MMI is different from yours). I recently bought Nav update from VAG-Technik in UK, sells through Ebay. He mailed three SD cards with Audi part labels, took a while clearing UK customs. I do not know if the following matters but it was a difference between loading the firmware and maps, and loading the activation. For the firmware and maps, both the engine and ignition were OFF. I started the MMI with the volume button. For the activation, the ignition was ON but with the engine still OFF. Used the NAV button to get to "The navigation data is blocked" screen, plugged in the activation SD card, waited a bit, and Presto, the system functioned!

got_boost. For the purchase I just confirmed everything I had to pick the correct product. Ordered thru the site. Downloaded. Did all the work. But since then, before this last round, he asked for screenshots of everything. I even had ‘before’ shots of the engineering menu showing the firmware and maps before hand. Support tickets include all of that and even the VIN. So assume at that point, if I had the wrong product or anything he would have caught it. I’m pretty confident I’ve go all the right stuff. Their site is pretty thorough in helping in that regard.

Alabama, not sure if I tried that exact process so I’ll give that a shot tomorrow or this weekend. Instructions during my support responses from Adam were to turn the car on, wait for the MMI to fully load to the point that when you click around the menus everything is up and running. Then insert the card and wait a couple minutes and it’d just kick off and show a splash screen that is was running and then complete. Nothing happens. But I’ll give your method a shot and report back.

Well, you guys get the golden cookie. That worked. Nowhere in any instructions afaik had I ever seen to put it on the 'data is blocked' screen and then insert the card. But that seems to have done it. First screen that displayed said to rotate the mmi knob, and the second I did that it flashed a screen that said reboot and it then 'watermarked' the map screen behind any MMI screen I changed to (car, radio, etc). At that point, rebooted the MMI and it all looked good once it was back up. Put it on the map screen and drove around for 30 minutes, it never switched back to 'data is blocked'. Here's hoping that did it.

So fwiw, UpgradeMyAudi.net does offer a functioning product, but whether this is a US based car thing, or their instructions are off, or I'm a doofus, or whatever...the support isn't all that great, at least in my experience.

Good deal. I'm usually the one who gets in trouble if there is any ambiguity in the instructions. Apparently there are significant software differences for Audi vehicles sold in different markets. Too bad there apparently is no thread that polls the people who actually create this stuff (e.g., Audi/Bosch/Bose etc. engineers).

Im guessing that upgrademyaudi allows you to DL directly? so as long as you have the SD cards to use,thats the quickest route but more money. I know the ebay directions are pretty complete,more info than you really need to know but that's a good thing. I cant speak about the directions coming from the other site because I never seen them. so there is 2 options to pick from, i'm sure there are more places to pick from if you wanted to look around or if someone else throws in their .02

The upgrademyaudi route is definitely the quickest for instant gratification especially if you are focused to get it done :-)

My problem was lack of focus (didn’t need nav cuz we are all locked in our homes right now) and that it seems maybe US vs EU cars behave a touch differently in some cases. But the upgrademyaudi instructions are/were super clear up until the Map activation part. And in that regard they are clear, just didn’t work for my car and had to use the method got_boost and Alabama mentioned above.

Upgrademyaudi also has it well documented on the site how to figure out which mmi/nav system you have to get you to the correct upgrade product.

I paid $160 for the download. Then just a little effort to create SD cards. I used the same SD card for all 3 steps. Firmware then maps then activation.

Haven’t looked at the EBay listing that got_boost posted above, that could be a cheaper route. Dunno.

The Q5 uses a different software part # than the A6 so I wouldn't flash it and expect it to work at all. Best bet is to just order the right version,if you order it from eBay it would be all on SD cards ready to go,no need for Audi connect.

I'd imagine it would be the same as the A6, you don't go thru the green screen. you need to get to the red screen, aka engineering screen, to do updates.

Hey guys I am quite new to this, I want to update my maps and my firmware, I just purchased a 2014 Audi A6, with 3GP. My current firmware and map is:

HN+R_US_AU_P0715

8R0060884BD NAR 6.8.2


I have the K0942_3 file, and the new map 6.19.1 (Database: NAR_Hi_R_6.19.1)

So just to be clear my instructions are as follows:

1. Green Screen, and turn on user defined mode (to turn off bose update on firmware)
2. Insert USB/SDCard and update Firmware (using engineering menu)
3. Reboot
4. Insert USB/SDCard with Maps
5. Install Maps
6. Run Activator
7. Use FSC if error code.

I’m able to send the addresses from myAudi app to car. After I went to car start navigating using the address which I sent but address is not recognized Audi gps everything comes in one line . I mean all the address. Any idea how to fix
