Need help with a P0068 error code

Got a check engine light a while back (the car ran fine), had the code read at Auto Zone and got code P0068. It was cleared and I drove the car around a bunch. Got a CEL again the other night and got the same error code. According to the printout I got, "Code P0068 indicates that the MAP/MAF and Throttle Position signals did not correspond with each other for a predetermined period of time." What does this mean? As stated, the runs fine, so I'm not sure why it's throwing this code. Anyone have any experience with this? Do I need a new MAP sensor? Could there be another cause? The car is due to be inspected this month so I kind of need to act quickly to ensure it passes.

    Thanks in advance, guys.

I have found that the Autozone scanners are not very informative. Do you know someone in your area that has VAGCOM and can scan the car?

No, unfortunately not. I'm not going to take it to the dealer, that gets expensive quick. I've read up on the error code but it seems unlikely that any of the problems other people had are the cause of mine -- most people recommended checking for air and vacuum leaks and cleaning the throttle body. I'm pretty confident that neither of those are the issue, although I guess I had better check before jumping to any conclusions.

I had the same code. I cleaned my throttle body with a brake cleaner and a tooth brush the code never came back. And I believe you re align the throttle body turn the car off and leave on AC battery position for 2 minutes it should reset it. Alaska your absolutely right about checking the vacuum hoses to the engine.

This is a tricky fault.... Assuming you have a 3.2. You can start with the cleaning. Then work to MAP replacement.

I've even had this fault where it ended up being the ECM. So good luck. Just take it step at a time

Vacuum hoses and tb are mostly simple route to trouble shoot. If you have a vacuum to pressure test your hoses that would help too
