Broken center console lid

When my car was broken into, the burglars managed to break the latch of my center console. Does the entire console need to be replaced or can I do the lid only?

You can replace the lid only (mfg part number should begin with 8E0864245--try 8E0864245M86R for 07 RS4). They usually cost over $150. My latches broke, so I put velcro in the four corners, and it works better than the latches ever did.

Chinese replacement costs $20 and you can hardly tell a difference. However I'm sure 90% of RS owners are too good to replace it with a Chinese knockoff

I'll have look at the Velcro method. A few $$ vs $150 is worth it!

Car is 9 yrs old this year, I'll do the Chinese replacement! I'll have to look for it.

Krazy glue Advanced formula.
Removed my lid and broken arm and put some glue on both pieces, pushed together firmly for about a minute and then carefully applied more glue around the cracked area. I let it sit overnight and then carefully put it back in place, check the other arm for cracks while your at it.

The Crazy Glue thing didn't work for me. Broke again after a week. I went with the $20 copy. Actually I bought two... figured at that price it would break again. Its been good for ~3 years now, and I have a spare.
