    Angry Rear speakers not working

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hello I've had my a4 for about a month and half now and my rear speakers dont work at all. The car did come with an aftermarket headunit. In the back, the driver side speaker has something hanging off of it, it has a blue connecter attatched and then 3 wires that I suppose should go to the speaker? One of them is red which is on the speaker the other 2 are green and black and they look like they need to be soldered on there. Could this be the problem? my passenger speaker is all connected but also doesnt work. please help soon. thank you

The rear speakers are amplified. You prolly need them wires hooked up.

If you show us some pictures of whatcha got there, we can probably provide more specific helps.

I think hook all wires up that look like they should be,

Check behind the headunit @ all the wires there, some could be disconnected from the head unit itself, or disconnected from each other.

Then I'd see if there are any amps in the car.

I had a similar situation and it was wires that had been previously taped behind the headunit, that had come undone.

    Good luck.

If this thing has an aftermarket head unit, it needs to be sending the 12v+ trigger (aka "remote" or "amp control" or even "power antenna") to the rear amp to make the rear stage work. If you don't send the trigger, the amp won't come on, and zero tunes will occur in the way-back.

It is quite possible that nobody hooked up that CD deck right to begin with and the rear speakers never worked since install day.
