Resonator or Glasspack, which one should I get?

Well guys, the time has come, my car is now a daily driven car, and I need to quiet down my exhaust. Currently, I'm running a straight downpipe to mid pipe to the two 14851 Magnaflow Mufflers...2.5-2.75 piping throughout. Sounds great dont get me wrong, but as a daily driver, it gets plenty annoying. So now I'm ready to get something to quiet it up. I'm not sure which to go with. I'm afraid if I get a resonator it will restrict some performance, however, I'm not sure if I should even get a glasspack as I understand you have to replace it every two or three years down the road...ehh which one!?

P.S. If I go with a resonator, which one should I go with, I've heard of something like a Magnaflow Magnapack?

Just throw on a vibrant stainless steel resonator. You won't lose anything noticable.

No, glasspacks will make it quieter. I put a glasspack on my Borla setup and it did make it quieter, but not a whole lot. I think I'm going to end up switching it to a full resonator. I don't know how much quieting down you want, but if you do end up going with a glass pack don't expect a huge difference.

Will I lose power with a resonator?? Because it will be more restrictive no?

A "glasspack" is simply a resonator, with a different design. A glasspack has louvers as opposed to perforations. These louvers are simply v-shaped cut-outs (indentations actually) inside the glasspack that grabs the exhaust flow. Most modern glasspacks have the louvers in a spiral formation, so the exhaust gas is twisted outwards. However, the louvers alone will cause a restriction, for a 2.5" piping will only be as big as 2.25" or smaller after the louvers. A standard resonator (a muffler basically) will use a perforated core instead, which is just holes inside the core. A glasspack will indeed make your exhaust quieter (both tone as well as pitch), as well as get rid of your "drone" but also cause more restriction. Most resonators will not fix your droning problem, for it will only reduce the raspiness, and make your tone deeper (where all the drone is).

How much restriction am I looking at? A great deal of increase in terms of performance? I'm running the injector fx program by Giac, and I absolutely love how the car feels in 5th gear, am I going to have to sacrifice speed for comfort?
