Battery died, and of course my key won't unlock the door!

Hello, not sure what caused it but I went out to get in my car and I hit the unlock on my fob and was greeted by the alarm going off for a few seconds. Then the remote stopped doing anything at all and I could see my lights becoming very dim, so dead battery obviously...well when I went to unlock my door it refuses. I can get into my trunk but I don't see how that can help much. I don't see away to get the rear seats to come down from the trunk...any advice here?

Wasn't very clear when I said it refuses to unlock but I meant with they physical key it will not unlock, just spins.

Go in through the trunk, it happened to me a couple months ago...
had to pull out the ski bag, and reach up to unlock the seats. It sucks, but it can be done.

Alright, haha just wanted to make sure! So your actual lock is just spinning in place?

You can unlock the whole car manually by turning the key twice in the trunk.
You don't have to crawl into the car thru the ski bag lol. It'll unlock every door.

Yeah? Thats cool. I had no idea about this. Would have saved me a trip through the ski bag when my drivers door was frozen shut and the rest of the doors wouldnt unlock (remote un-synced due to bad battery)

This. I didn't know the trunk would unlock all the doors though, pretty cool.

If this is the case then the lock or latch is broken. The mechanical key tumbler is a solid connection to the door latch, and should be able to lock and unlock the door without power available. This would still be the case regardless of the presence of normal electrical power or not. The mechanical key lock tumbler does not require electrical power to work properly.
