SRM intercoolers are great, bigger, and shaped very differently from cheap chinese intercoolers on ebay... Does SRM ships fast or has amazing customer service? Absolutely not.. You can't have it both, high quality, reasonably priced, and fast, has to sacrifice somewhere. I had their intercoolers on stage 3 Allroad for 2 years, (had to wait 3 weeks), and ordered upgraded 1 bar wastegates last week. Spoke to Sean once, supposedly he shipped them. Still no tracking number. It sucks, but I am not bitching.

I called SRM at least 6 times over the course of 6 months to order parts for customers cars and every single time I called I got a real live person on the phone after the 3rd or 4th ring. Try picking up the phone people instead of emailing and bashing people. That's what I mean though... pump gas, downpipes/exhaust and a tune and they're around 580-600 awhp depending on how aggressive the tune is. I've seen them trap 130-131 with just these mods.

Again. Lots of bone stock GTRS around here. High dollar builds, doesnt really matter.. You can high dollar build a yugo to destroy anything.

I thought the paypal claim explanation was cute though, apparently calibrating wastegates is beyond his level of expertise :p - i'm the bad guy though after UPS kicks your box around.

"To summarize events:Purchased some SRM RS4+ turbochargers from Silly Rabbit Motorsports on 3/2/17 and I received them dead on arrival on 3/20/17. Rather than offering a replacement turbochargers, he shipped me a sensitive part that requires additional calibration done by the manufacturer. I got the replacement part on 3/27 and went to go test the identical part on the second turbo which also came DOA. I reached out to Sean and he said he would ship me a replacement, I shipped back the broken wastegates on 4/12. I messaged him on 4/12 and did not get a response until 4/17/2017 .. I have yet to receive the part needed and they've never been installed on my vehicle.Overall, horrible experience and I do not wish to do business with Silly Rabbit Motorsports. I'm requesting a full refund since the parts I ordered did not come as described and left the consumer calibrating his own (expensive) equipment.."

They were damaged in shipping, so replacements were sent. Only told us that one was broken at first so immediately sent that one, then was told other was broken, but that side was out of stock. Setting wastegates apparently requires ""additional calibration done by the manufacturer?"" - typical bending of truth in a dispute process...

I bought a car that had an out of calibration wastegate I chassed it for 2 weeks and finally found it. And All I had to do was tighten down the nut and double nut it on the one side so it doesn't move since it lost the clip. And it was fixed in 10 min ON THE CAR. There is no "CALIBRATION" to them really. You just set it as full closed at its at rest position and your done. takes probably 2 min with the turbo off the car. Quit whining he atleast made you whole. He didn't have to do anything and could of just said you need to deal with UPS. But he didn't he went out of his way.

I will be buying from SRM whenever I decide I want/need K04's

A little more to it than that. You need to set the pressure where the wastegate cracks open.

Still not the rocket science it's being made out to be though.

Yeah easy fix. Really wise to check gates on any pair before install using a mityvac or other and set to recommended.


TTE set the clocking position of a K04 hybrid on a jig to ensure orientation is correct for stock position manifolds. We do this for most all turbos be it AMG,BMW,VAG So on.

Waste gates we synchronise each pair on a test bench and set the cracking to our spec depending on model, can also be custom set on request.
