    Anyone on Neuspeed Springs?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm looking to lower the vehicle a bit to reduce body roll and wheel gap. I see plenty of reviews regarding H&R Sport springs. I was wondering if anyone has installed the Neuspeed Sport springs. How is the ride quality with the magnetic dampers? Do you have the rear pads to even the fender gap? How do they compare against the H&R Sport springs in terms of comfort?

Any feedback with first hand experience is greatly appreciated. From my understanding, Neuspeed are using Eibach springs made to Neuspeed specs. I had H&R Sport springs on my mk2 TT and the ride was very harsh. I would like to keep most of the comfort while removing some of the floatiness.

I am currently running Neuspeed springs (my car does not have magnetic ride), I maybe have 1000ish miles on them. I think the spring rate matches the factory shocks extremely well and provides a lower ride height in addition to not being harsh for daily driving. I picked Neuspeeds over H&R as I didn't like the slightly raked look that the H&R's give our cars in addition to the increased spring rate with the Neuspeeds. 10/10 would recommend.

Gram and Modded, both of your cars look great. There's just enough wheel gap to tell it's lowered without it tucking. Did you get the package with the rear pad to even up the fender gap?

    helper springs...yes

In our pic, one thing to note is we are sitting on 19x9 RSE10's which are et40 If I am not mistaken. Fitment is perfect. There is a very slight rub if we hit a big dip or bump in the road but other than that nothing

How does the ride comfort compare to stock? Is there still a noticeable difference between the different drive modes like the stock springs?

Thank you for the compliment! Yes, I purchased the springs through Modded Eruo's and it came with the rear pads.

All springs are gonna ride stiffer and this does but I barely notice. It is more stiff but that is the intent really. Lowering is a side effect of what springs are designed to do from a handling standpoint.

Nice. I'm going to look into these on your website. Does your car have mag ride? This is about the drop I want n
But will be adding spacers to the stock 19s.

No MAG ride. Literally was the first S3 off the lots here in PA.

Springs are on sale right now as well btw so you can save a little bit more

I've noticed. How is the ride been with them? Looks like they lower more than the h&r sports. 1" vs .75"

Sean @ ModdedEuros has been excellent to work with. Extremely fast responses and matched their price since I bought the springs before they went on sale. I will have them installed this week and will report back once I have some drive time on them.

I will be doing the same. Waiting on feb delivery though. Please let me know your thoughts on how the springs feel when in comfort and dynamic. Interested to see if there are actual differences in ride after spring replacement.

The majority of the time, I drive in dynamic mode. Actually, it's an individual settings with everything on dynamic except throttle/transmission. I do switch to auto if I'm on a rough road. I'm anticipating a stiffer ride but hope it won't be jarring like my mk2 TT with H&R sport springs with a Neuspeed rear sway bar. Although it took turns really well, it was painful when I hit a bump or dip.

I had the Neuspeed springs installed today. I've only driven 12 miles so there's not much to report. It is a hair stiffer compared to stock in dynamic mode. Squatting and dipping seems reduced when stopping and accelerating.

I'll post pics and measurements when there's daylight.

    Initial Impressions

I have roughly 45 miles on the new springs. There's about 1.5 finger gap up front and 1 finger gap on the rear. In addition, I have 12.5 mm spacers in the front and 17.5 mm in the rear. Zero rubbing so far and the tires are perfectly flush with the top of the fenders.

    Pass side:
    Front FTG - 25 3/4 in from 26 1/2 in
    Rear FTG - 25 3/4 in from 26 1/4 in

The driver's side is 1/8 in lower. There was a slight difference prior to lowering. Hopefully it's just my garage floor being uneven. I'm pretty pleased with the amount of drop. Since there's such a small difference from stock height, the longevity of the magnetic dampers should not be an issue. I like the rear height and hope the front comes down about 1/8 in.

Comfort mode felt bouncy in stock form but soaked up most road imperfections. The bounciness no longer exists and it's definitely more firm. It's slightly stiffer than auto mode with the stock springs.

Dynamic mode is stiff. Not as stiff as my '15 STI on coilovers but everything on the road can be felt. There's hardly any body roll but I don't see myself driving in dynamic mode as often unless I'm really doing spirited driving.

Pictures won't be posted until I have time during the day. I hope to have some up this weekend. Final impressions will be made once I get the car aligned after 2-3 weeks.

Overall, I'm satisified with the outcome. The car looks great and I didn't sacrifice too much ride comfort and the reduction in body roll is noticeable.

Sorry for the long write up but I wanted to give my initial impressions while my "butt" remembers the stock springs vs the Neuspeed springs.

Thanks for the information. Look forward to the pictures. Having the magnetic dampers like you I want something that will clean up the wheel gap a bit but not compromise the stock dampers.

takes about 2-3 weeks to fully settle, its by time versus miles. just the weight being on them causes them to settle.

Yes, the rear spring spacers are installed. Still not much change in height. All corners are 25 3/4 inches FTG.

Either the springs softened up a bit after a couple hundred miles or I've become accustomed to the slightly firmer ride. I find myself in "auto"mode the majority of the time. I'm very pleased with the ride and looks of the drop.

I'd say the springs settled very slightly after the install. I didn't get to measure immediately after the installation the the car is the same height from 45 miles after install and now.

I switch to "comfort" with both my children in the car and can confidently say they still enjoy the ride without looking like bobble heads when riding in my STI.

That's great news. I had VWR springs on my mk7 gti and they settled quite a bit after a month or so. Still looked great and the ride was good. I'm thinking I'll want a 1" drop vs the .75 the H&R sports give. When the wife and son are in the car they didn't have issues with the VWR drop.
