    SQ5 with Diamond Stitch

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Searching for a new SQ5 and absolutely love the diamond stitch with the layered aluminum trim. Apparently there are only two available in the country optioned this way.

For those that have the diamond (also RS drivers), how is the "wearability"? On my alcantara seats, they did wear worse than the standard leather.

I'm worried that the diamond pattern is not as robust as the nappa and will "wear out" way too fast?

Also, what price are most people paying for a premium plus optioned with the sport stuff: black optics, red brakes, 21" wheels and tech pkg? I'm aware of the 5% euro delivery discount, ACNA 6% discount and the F&F $300 over invoice deals. Will it be possible to buy this at invoice or closer to full sticker?

Thanks and looking forward to joining the ranks once I sell my A7 TDI. Too bad I can't get an S-line Q5 TDI as this would be my first choice.

I would not worry about the durability at all. My only gripe is the stitching going all the way forward. Looks like it would feel weird on the back of your knee. Looks weird too.

Any owners with some miles that can comment on diamond?

I have 4k miles and no issues. And as far as feeling it on the back of your knee, I don't even realize it's there

Only a couple thousand miles on ours but the diamond stitch is flawless so far. I agree about it being visually strange that it's extended onto the front of the seat, but I don't feel it at all.

the more important issue is the discoloration of the threads in lower portion of the seat from dirt and denim transfer. it will be a detailing headache if you are an ocd car owner.

the audi loyalty is only available if you lease or finance. if you are buying outright they will not and cannot apply it. acna discount still applies regardless of the way you acquire the vehicle.

I don't think that's the case, at least it isn't with the S5. I didn't lease or finance though Audi and received loyalty credit. I would've received twice what I did get ($1000 vs $500) if I used Audi financial.

It depends on the car and the month, they sometimes get rid of the loyalty program on specific cars or for specific months, not sure when/why, but it happens.

Interesting. I was told that it had just changed before I purchased, and from the brief glance I took at it, it did seem to vary widely by model.

I told them that I would use them to finance through so they gave me an extra $500. The next day I just paid the car off. Have to work the system sometimes

doesn't matter if diamond stitched or not, napa leather is a softer, finer leather that will show wear more than the Dakota leather. It may be that the stitching may help it from stretching.

    SQ5 with Diamond Stitch

I had serious suspicion of the stitching hiding the stretch marks!

7K miles look seriously brand new

I love the diamond stitch as well, and if an SQ5 is available with it when I trade in December I will go for it. This is mostly because we will be getting an S5 Cab shortly afterward and I don't want to see the exact same interior every time I go back and forth between vehicles.

I have about 13k miles on mine with a mixture of hot (80ish degrees) and snow weather ..everything still looks great, even the driver seat.

I've had the diamond stitching for 11k miles. Hasn't bothered me. I think it looks great.

I love my layered Al trim and would really love diamond stitching with it. If for no other reason than to hide/avoid the nappa stretch marks.

My RS7 has Honeycomb Stitch with Layered Aluminum/Black Wood Inlays with no issues so far, and my seats are in Lunar Silver color with blue stitching.

I did coat most of the interior with Opticoat Leather, so its very easy to maintain and easy to get out the dirt and blemishes.
