What's the best bet for black 18" wheels i can purchase at TIRERACK for AUDI A4 B8

Hi guys,

I'm thinking of getting new 18" black wheels and tires from tirerack.com (They have the tires and wheels package)

First, i wanted to get Black AVANT GARDE rims but Tirerack don't have them and i feel like its more convenient to order the tires and wheels from the same website.

Tires will be CONTINENTAL DSW06.

What would be the best choice for the BLACKOUT 18" rims from tirerack for my audi a4 2010?

My budget for the wheels would be around $160 to $240 per wheel.

I kinda like Enkei's Raijin and EMK3.

One option would be to plasti-dip or powdercoat your OEM wheels black. You could also get some Alzor wheels from ECS Tuning, they have lots of options and they're well priced. You would have to get the tires separately but you will have much more options to choose from.

Charcoal, bright silver or bronze. Black on black is too much, in my opinion.

It's all personal preference man, you can bring brand new wheels and tires to a tire shop and they'll mount them up. You could also buy the wheels online, then buy tires from a tire shop and have them mounted - most shops will price match tire rack these days so I don't see the point of having to choose from their limited selection of wheels.

One thing I've strongly considered is the powder coat, as mentioned above. Gives you a ton more options for wheels and costs ~$200 to get them all powder coated.

Any place that sells wheels also sells tires, and would probably more than happy to put a package deal together for you. You're not limited to only TireRack.

Assuming your wheel budget is for wheels only, the only AG wheels that are gonna be in your price range are the M310's and M359's.

Do yours have a polished lip around the edge? I think that a silver rim or some accent makes a huge difference from missing hubcap look to cool.

If you're not absolutely set on 18" and Bblack, there's a killer deal for a set of Copper M510's with tires right now. That finish alone is a Bespoke 3 upgrade.

Black wheels are perfectly acceptable for winters, but everyday?...... If you are running them as winters i would want something that's very easy to clean so i would go with the Alutec Raptr, $163 low pressure cast clean 5 spoke, excellent winter wheel: http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...r=Premium+Plus

But if you are going for a daily, i would recommend going gunmetal or anthracite over black, black looks very honda civic rattle canned.

If it's between the Raijin and EKM, I'd go with the Raijin. I ran black wheels for winter and went with Alzor 349s from ECS. Really liked them and they were only $400 for a set when I got them. Looks like they're $550 now. 18x8 et35 with 245/40/18 Michelin Alpin PA4....

Last time I looked at Plastidip in a copper color, it was some complicated 2-step process to get the right shine/effect. Is this still the case?

From what I have seen, just looks like two steps. Spray them with four coats of the black first then add coats of the copper metalizer until you have the shade you want. Can go from dark bronze to bright copper.

Nah, it's a lot tougher than you would think. My grill is dipped and I worried that by now I would have chips or it would peel. Looks great still after 6 months.
