What's YOUR Favorite Color Winter Wheel On Dolphin Grey B7!?

Hey guys, I've searched for pics, please don't be that guy.
I have some 19x8 Miro 111 in hyper silver that I will be running next year, and have decided to keep my stock S-Line five spoke wheels to use as my winter wheels. They're in pretty good condition, but a few dings here and there so I want to have them refinished and powder coated to provide a bit more protection from the salt and grime, and add some flash as well.
Will be installing my ST coilovers in a couple weeks with 12mm spacers front and 15mm spacers rear, probably dropping right on top of tire for winter just to give you an idea.

I love the look of brighter wheels on a darker colored car such as Dolphin, but want something different for the winter as I now have my bright aluminum wheels for the summer time.
I've seen the five spoke S-Lines in gloss black and gunmetal, but nothing really other than that.

Just looking for opinions and pics from people who have done this as to what looks good with Dolphin. My car isn't "murdered out" or anything like that. I have kept the aluminum and silver trim, 35% tint, so I don't know if black would look right, but it's hard to find on Dolphin so I can't say for sure. I also think that gunmetal might be okay but wouldn't provide enough contrast to suit my taste as is it almost the same color as the car. The wheel has such a large face I'm not sure what it can pull off without looking gaudy.
So... White? Gold? Copper? Pics? Suggestions? Powder coat them the same color and be boring?
Love gold/champagne wheels on Dolphin, but usually looks better with multi-spoke wheels; never seen it on five spoke hence one of the reasons for this post!!!

Gunmetal.. Good on black.. Dolphin? Meh

Love this, but again.. With a large face like five spoke S-Lines? Not so sure

And this.. On a B6.. Looks "okay" but kind of out of place with no other white in sight?

In my opinion, black on Dolphin Grey looks great.

I currently have my winters on which are the split 5 spoke stock wheels. They're dipped black with a light coat of silver metalizer then a light coat of copper metalizer on top of that. I'll try and snap some better pics tomorrow, this is all I have of my winters on the car.

I had Diamond Black BBS RGR's on my ex DG B6 and love the color combo. (Diamond black = 2 step millenium paint)

Wheels should pop when compared to the paint imho, I would use the color wheel logic to help find a nice color combo that compliments

DG - what size tire are you using on those five spokes? Stock sport suspension?

Yep, stock sport susp. Tires are 215/50 R17, I like going a little narrower for winter tires.

15mm spacers in the rear and 10mm up front.

I actually do like the way that looks, but I also like the split-spoke; I think that the solid five spoke would look quite different. I'm not against gloss black, especially since it would hide some of the gunk over the winter time. Thanks for posting! Love the car

I love that color, but they look very similar to my hyper silver 111s... Is that the diamond black?? Where does the black come into play lol looks silver/aluminum to me

Diamond black is a two step paint, base coat is black on the entire wheel, then the face is lightly painted silver (see through), then its clear coated.

Ahh okay. That looks very nice. Going for powdercoating here though; I think the closest color to that would just be aluminum, although it wouldn't have the same depth that the diamond black has.

A friend of mine powder coated a buddies TL-S wheel the powder coat equivalent to Diamond black and this is how it came out :

You'll never be able to get that color/effect without painting them with the two step technique. I'm actually having my BBS's VZ033 powder coated the same color since its cheaper and more resistant.

I know, I'm holding off until spring to save some money and wait for all the snow to go, no point in putting coils on to go through a Minnesota winter

Lol, I'm holding off on mods for a month or two, I have college and my car to pay for, it's not easy when you're still in high school, coils will come soon though, I'll have them on by eurowerks 2016

The white does look good man! Okedokey im keeping the five spoke S-Line wheels for winter, just looking for color suggestions. And RAudiB7 I've said it before and I'll say it again. Car is simply too sexy.

It took longer then I thought to see one of your sets of wheels. I think your teal wheels would go well on a DG avant as well.

Probably. I really liked how the purple looked against the Dolphin; it pulled the cool tones well and looked much better than it did with the Ibis, which is why I switched to turquoise. Doing something new this year, though!
