    H7 LED headlight conversion?

Looking for alternatives to problematic HID kits, I came upon this.

SuperbrightLEDs H7 LED headlight bulb conversion
Here's another kit from Xenondepot with more output

Normally I'd just move right past something like this, but it looks like they actually put out substantial light and draw less power than a HID set up (and probably less heat). Has anyone tried one of these in a projector housing on our cars? I've gone through various HID kits with constant headache, if this is a viable alternative with less fuss, I'm interested. A lot of the reviews I'm reading for this and other similar bulbs seem to be universally positive, thoughts?

HID or bust. If you've been having issues with HIDs, stop trying your luck with Chinese parts (I know many get lucky with them). Get a solid kit at The Retrofit Source. Grab some Mini H1's while you're at it for a much better cut-off and bi-xenon.

The light output of that LED doesn't look any stronger than the halogen. It just looks whiter.

I need to do a HID conversion....

Yeah I've had my eye on the miniH1 kit for a while, but I'm on a fairly tight budget and that money would do well elsewhere on the car. However, you are exactly right about trying your luck with cheap kits, I've been through 3 DDMtuning kits, two with the relay harness. I was just wondering if anyone has any feedback comparing these to stock halogen, I knew the HID kits would be superior.

    x2.

LEDs are just not there yet, and TheRetrofitSource is a great company. Been ordering stuff from them for over 5 years now.

I cant stand the way those LED's curve the cutoff line. Curious as to what causes that

What's been going wrong with the DDM kits? I was just thinking about picking up a 55W kit.

The first kit was 35W and was almost 8 years ago, it was flickering from the start. Our halogen headlight switch circuits can't handle the impulse of power it takes to fire the igniter, so they make a relay harness to go straight from the battery to the ballasts. Tried that with 55W kit, still had issues with flickering after about a year. Sold the car with a fresh 3rd set, and recently bought the car back with halogens in the headlights again. PO said they started flickering on startup, same old routine. YMMV

What's causing the flickering? Bad ballasts, or bad relays?

Were you able to warranty them? According to their site, they have a lifetime warranty on every component in the system?
