    Hi.

    I got a 2011 B8 avant 2.0 TFSI with aux heater.

I experience that the remote control won’t start my aux heater, it just blinks red. I know that if you are low on fuel it won’t start and blink red, what other scenarios is the aux heater programmed not to start ?
It wont start if I stand 1 or 20 meter from the car, it used to work from inside of my house.

My 90.000KM service has exceeded by 2500KM, so it should have been at service.. may that be the reason my aux is not working remote ? It start and works if I manually activate it in the MMI.
Could it be the battery on the remote? (I doubt it.. )

Not sure if this is the same solution, but it is a known issue with Webasto diesel heaters that they fail to ignite a certain number of times, they are disabled and need to be "force cycled" to revert to normal starting cycle.

Since yours is a gas system it might be different, but diesel burn chambers are known to fail. I replaced both of them on my oem Webasto equipped my10 Passat TDI.

Thanks for replying. FYI I got the OEM auxiliary heater, not Webasto or Eberspächer.

Do you know if the problem also affect the OEM aux heater?

I believe it also checks the battery level, and will not start if the battery is low. I am not sure if that is true or not, but if I recall correctly from DavidB8's DIY, the aux heater queries the battery and fuel level to determine if it can start.

Do you have your battery meter enabled in your MMI?
