Should i buy eurodyne maestro tuning software??

HELP....building my third stage 3 Audi.....first 2 cars were s4's....this latest build is a 2002 Allroad 2.7....for the other cars i had them custom tuned......I do not know to much about Maestro from Eurodyne but from what I understand it is not new, just new to me. I do have some limited knowledge of tuning, I am computer savy and being a professional auto tech I am strong mechanically and do all of my own work.
I am looking for opinions and suggestions....Should I go with Maestro...Is there something like Maestro but newer/Better?? Or should I pay to have this one custom tuned as I did my previous two cars?? Ps: preliminarily, Maestro sounds really cool and interesting to me.
Any and all help greatly appreciated

I'm running it on my car now.

It is a good tool to learn on. I had a very basic understanding of tuning when I started, and now almost a year later I am beginning to consider selling my ECM/Eurodyne setup and going completely custom with a new stock ECM.

The money gets you a good base tune to start with, and it simplifies the process. Tapp is no longer in the helping industry, so keep that in mind. You get the cable, the software, and you're on your own.

I don't regret going with it, and I definitely recommend it over the OTS company tunes. But after throwing a rod through my Gt3071r MKV on a tune from one of the big companies, I decided I would never trust someone else to tune my car again. Eurodyne has been a great stepping stone, but long haul will be doing it alone.

An alternative is looking over the tuning information at the Nefmoto site. All the software tools that you need are free, but you'll need to spend some time pulling information together to try and learn. We did a Stage 1/2 tune with a walk through of the steps, but no similar effort has been made for Stage 3.

Chris Tapp is the guy who runs Eurodyne. He doesn't offer much assistance these days other than getting everything running on your computer.

The website Flyboy mentioned is what I was hinting towards. It has helped me immensely in figuring out my issues after going stage 3.

I did my Stage 3 build in a weekend, and only this week have I gotten to where I feel I have a finalized tune. Fuel trims are <5%, the car managed a 3.19 FATS on 23psi and less than 3* of Knock retard. The kicker is that I have been running Eurodyne since last year, so I already had a decent understanding. I went stage 3 early August and only recently got a good handle on what I needed to do for a solid safe Stage 3 tune.

My point, is that if you are willing to put in the time needed to develop a strong understanding of how these operate, Eurodyne is a great start. If you want to just build it and go, then having someone else tune it may be your option. For me personally, I am glad to know that I won't have to pay someone to adjust a few maps whenever I make a change to my vehicle.

If you can figure out how to operate Eurodyne, you're already 90% ready to simply use free tools and $10 ebay cable to accomplish the same with help of nefmoto...especially that basic tunes are already available there.

I appreciate the input so far, everything you guys are saying makes a lot of sense.....
Seems to me like Maestro much easier to use and set up for a beginner like myself, as opposed to using Nefmoto site.......
Nefmoto site seems so much more fragmented and intimidating to me as opposed to Maestro........any thoughts on this?
