    Test one :P

I'm currently running an S4 carrier and disc (B7's have a similar caliper as the S4's) and the caliper is maybe 2mm away from the wheel. I'm scared I wont be able to run these brakes or I would need to source another set of 17 inchers for winter.

I mean if it's the face that is almost not clearing you can always get spacers a that's what I did (5mm) I will take a picture of the current wheels and the spacing. It's not much lol

Its actually 2mm aways from the wheel weights, I dont even run spacers in winter.

I have to say, this thread is amazing with lots of good info. I will cross reference it in the B7 section if you dont mind.

Edit : Did you use the oem carrier bolts or the one for the brembo caliper from the Q5?

Just move the wheel weighs to the inside edge of the wheel, that's what I had to do on my 17" avant sport wheel with bb6 s4 brakes. Balances fine

This is awesome. You have any idea what the setup weighs vs stock or other common swaps

I have the B7S4 calipers and clears my stock Avant Sport wheels with no issues. Now I have my OEM RS6 wheels on and absolutely no issues there either.

I bought myself a set of the 345mm version, test fitted them and they do clear the oem B6 sport wheels (17X7.5ET45) but in my case they were rubbing on the balancing weights.

The S4 dust shields I have had to be removed prior to installing them since they were in the way.

I also wanted to know, which brake pad wear sensors were needed because I see two on ETKA :

    8R0 615 121 [22-07-13 >> 27-04-15]
    8R0 615 121 A [27-04-15 >>]

I was looking at Posi-Quiet pads #105.16630 and wanted to know which brake pad wear sensor to get if I want to retain that feature

Crikey. And I thought my S5 brakes were a tight fit on the 17" sport wheels. Damn. I know those aren't floating style calipers but it almost looks like any flex and that caliper will hit the barrel. Any closer/clearer pics of the clearance?

Thats the best I have for the barrel clearance, its coming in contact with the weights so I'll probably run 18" next winter. Not confortable with how close they are from the barrel.

Here's another with the spoke to caliper clearance but I dont know why it seem bigger than it really is :

So a while back I said I mocked them up with my stock 17" Avant avus wheels, and they didn't clear the spokes. I must have been on drugs, because I put them back on this weekend and they clear.

How is the pedal feel with this setup? Is there a lot of play in pedal before it firms up?

The same as oem for me. The caliper isnt offset from the rotor and the rotor (If you use a B7 A4 or B6/B7 S4 rotor) has the same thickeness as the Q5, why would there be play in the pedal?

Because the total piston area is larger than the stock caliper and therefore requires more pedal travel to move the Q5 pistons the same distance.

I'm not sure what the bore of the Q5 pistons are, hence the question.

Out of curiosity, is there any benefit to running a brake setup such as this, versus B6/B7 S4 345 x 30 mm brakes? The S4 brake caliper is one large piston (oversize B6 A4 caliper), correct? Is the benifit in the 4 piston caliper, and Brembo manufacturer?

Anyone ran BBS LM wheels with these?

Or does anyone know of a brembo template card you can use to verify? I've seen them at a couple website (CAD drawn printed to 100% scale) but they have several styles of caliper to choose from.

Will this Q5 Brembo BBK be a direct fit for my 2008 A5?

Any reason why you didn't do the 345mm? 320mm is the A5 oem size to begin with?

Did you need anything else besides the calipers?
    Q5 caliper carriers?
    Longer caliper bolts?
Did you also upgrade to braided brake lines? If so, which ones (A5 or Q5)?

Yes direct fit. I used A5 steel lines. I got the calipers for a good price and spent lots of time with the paint. It's WAY better then the stock calipers. I hated them.
The S4 carrier is an option, but I don't like the way the caliper works. The ones I got we a great upgrade!

Hmm I have the A6 C6 and I am looking for some OEM upgrade solution. I just realized that both the calipers and carriers on my car is same as on the S4 B6/B7, but the discs are a lil larger, 347 instead of 345.

I'm thinking that this mod would work with the A6 also, but using the standard 347mm A6 discs. What do you guys think? I just swapped to the Q5 setup on my A4 B7, but that car is going up for sale so if it works I would rather swap brakes between the cars.

These are 320mm as the stock size of the A5. So you will lose some MM but have a WAY better experience.

The model is so new, just a few years now, I am not sure anyone has tried. As you mentioned it's a 338MM, you would be better off looking at the S4 caliper. Which is a 6 piston w/350MM rotor.

Found this thread for B9 to B8 fitament, should answer most questions. For our applications I still prefer the Q5 Brembos as we have 2 piece rotor options. If weight is of no concern to you then either the B9 S4 6 piston (356MM A6 rotor) or the Q7 6 piston (380MM SQ5 rotor) would be great options. For a B6 application someone would need to research any possible interference issues with the steering knuckle.

    HI

Hi, I know this was already answered in the original post, but just wanted to double check following is correct before ordering the parts.
For my 2004 B6 S4 Avant I would need to order new B6 S4 front discs (same as stock once that ware on my car) and Q5 345mm Calipers/pads.
Thus should all bolt together; correct?!

I tried searching "Blue-Angel" user to get some brake lines made but somehow did not get any results.
Could someone please help how to find this contact.

    Thanks a lot!

Yes that's what you need, as for lines I used 1994 Jetta 2.0 front brake lines, they are a bit shorter than the B8 lines but fit the B6
