B6 vs B7 cluster face plate - are they different?

Basically, I'm looking to replace my US MPH instrument cluster face plate with a Canadian KPH version and I'm wondering if I can pick up a face plate from from a basic B7 A4 cluster.
I know the electronics are different, but what I want to know is whether all the warning lights and cutouts for them are in the same place between B6 and B7 clusters. My car is a 2005 if that matters.
Can someone validate this for me?

Well for starters the B6 speedo reads up to 260km/h and the B7 goes to 280km/h. Whether or not that can be calibrated I do not know.

Doh! I should've spotted that!
Also, I can see that the B7 tacho shows 8k, but the scale seems to be the same (4k at 12 o'clock position and 6 & 7k around the same spot), so it's only the digit "8" that is added.
So, in addition to my question above: can the speedo scale be adjusted to the 280kph via VAGCOM? Both B6 and B7 have 100kph at the 12 o'clock spot.

Edit: Found an answer to my speedo scale question here. In short, it's possible through EEPROM modification, so not with VAGCOM, but likely VAGTacho would do it.

You might want to check these guys out. They do custom gauge faces for the B6.

I believe there are different warning lights, but I'm not 100% sure.
