    C7 S7 or B9 S4???

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I planned on trading my truck in for a B9 S4 whenever they make there way to the states but recently found out they will not have a 6MT option. Since I would have to get the B9 in an auto I figured I might as well look at a C7 S7 as well. Which do you think would be best for a modded daily driver? I will still have the S5 but need a 4 door because I have a daughter on the way.

Because the B9 S4 is a twin turbo so tuning could pump out some awesome HP and it is a lot lighter than the S7 but I am a fan of the twin turbo V8 but I am looking at which would be a better daily driver. I think the S7 would be awesome for getting my daughter to day care on time in the mornings but the S4 is still sitting on my right shoulder saying buy me, buy me.

S7 would have a custom plate that said P00PNDG lmao.

audi cars in general makes a great DD, so either car would do the trick. s7. /thread

I don't think s4 is TT, its a twin scroll single turbo, from what I read

The S7 will still be a better all around car. The extra room, luxury, and power will more than make up for any loss in handling it'd give up to the smaller S4.

Seems like the S7 may end up as the baby hauler if I can find one in my area. It was a toss up because with the money I saved from getting the S4 instead of the S7 I could go mod crazy on the S4 but if I buy the S7 and tune it I should be satisfied for a little while. I would like to find a CPO S7 though so I may be looking for a little bit until I find one I want.

But when will one be available in the states? I mean I do plan on getting stationed in Germany in a few years so I could always get one straight from the source but I don't think I could wait that long.

An S7 is significantly quicker than an S4 (even if the B9 gets a little quicker). Heck even a tuned S4 may have trouble keeping with an S7. Plus the S7 can always be tuned itself. Don't forget the S7 still has a 7 speed DSG whereas the B9 S4 is supposed to get an 8-speed Tiptronic.

That is true about the tune and the tranny. Closest dealer to my only has one CPO S7 so hopefully I will find one out here.

If I could do it all over again, i would def get a S7, S4 starts to get cramped in the backseat pretty quickly especially when you add infant/toddler seats. my 4 year old barely has enough room to stretch his legs in his Recaro car seat. Plus the size of the trunk in the S7 is bigger than my wifes crossover!

Yea, my office manager is a State fan, but we get along nicely! There is an Audi dealership in Memphis, TN and I believe there is one in Jackson, MS

I think you just sold me on getting an S7 with the info about the car seat and being cramped. My wife has a Sonata which seems like it is pretty roomy but we will see if she runs into the cramped issue down the road. Thanks for the info on the S4 about the car seat!

The dealership in Jackson has one CPO S7 but it is black and I would prefer a Daytona Gray one. Havent checked Memphis yet. We have some pretty level headed fans here but then we have the die hard fans who are rather entertaining.

Glad I could help! I think the Jackson dealership is about 2 hrs from Starkville. They have a bunch of regular A7's take a look at this one and you definitely need to see the trunk in person

I may have to make a road trip up to Jackson to check them out. I found a Quartz Gray one and it looks very clean. I will get a Quartz Gray or Monsoon Gray S7 though for sure now thanks to everyone's input.

B9 S4 is single turbo. Also if it helps your decision in any way, the B9 S4 won't hit the US until first quarter of 2017.

It all depends what kind of car you want. The S7, while a total beast, comes in 800-900lbs higher than the B9 S4 is going to weigh and is a completely different drive. Both will have the potential to be quite fast in a straight line.

As Mops mentioned, we should also be getting S5 Sportback. A cool twist on the S4.

It sounds like space is already a concern with the S4...an S5 SB is even more cramped.

You're right that space is definitely something to consider in the car-buying process, but how so? Rear leg room for the sportback is the same as the sedan, as is storage capacity (and SB has more cargo capacity if you compare with the seats down).

Only loss is a bit of rear headroom. Same issue as the A7/S7 has.

I travel to Singapore every few months for work so I've been in a few sportbacks out there. On paper it may be the same but in reality it feels extremely cramped in the back. This could be because of the headroom but even the leg room felt smaller too.

Thanks for all the info guys. I have decided on getting an S7 due to the issue of space in the back seat of the S4. I will be looking for one when I get back from my deployment next year. Thanks again!!

my S5 had more rear leg room than the A4 loaner i had.. wouldn't that make the S5 sportback more roomer than the S4?

I was looking at the S6 as well but I like the styling of the S7 more. They are practically the same car but one is a hatchback and the other a sedan. RS7 as of right now is not going to be an option unless I can get into one for less than $1200 a month.
