    Right dipped headlight??

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys so yesterday my xenon headlights were working great, then all of a sudden i got a right dipped headlight code. Checked the light and sure enough it was out. but when i turned the car off and back on it was fine. It comes off intermittently.

Any ideas? Am i going to have to replace the entire headlight? Is there a simple fix?

    Any help is appreciated!

Switch the dipped bulbs between the two housings and see if the problem moves with the bulb. If it does, just replace the bad bulb. If the error stays on the right headlight, swap ballasts between the two housings, and check again.

Next time the headlight is out, leave the car running and do some diagnostics. Do you have 12 volts to the ballast? I've found the Vehicle Electric module to have a mind of its own. So before you start shopping for new headlights, do some basic electrical testing.

I had the same thing with my Xenon's. I purchased a replacement bulb over eBay and it fixed the issue. Diagnostics could be helpful but honestly if you can get a high quality bulb for decently cheap, and luckily passenger side (at least on the 3.2) is very easy to replace and doesn't require the bumper off.
