Hello fellow Audi Owners, My name is Justin I currently own a 2013 Ibis White Audi S4. I recently had the roof wrapped in gloss black, when the shop wrapped the roof they removed the antenna as well so it would be much easier to wrap the entire roof without any problems. While the antenna was off the vehicle they attempted to vinyl wrap the antenna but because of the sharp angles and deep turns its just so hard for the wrap to stay in position and it turns out looking like crap. Another option is to plasti dip the antenna but plasti dip just never looks good. It comes out very dull and doesnt have that nice shine to it. Yet at the same time its extremely hard to tape up around the seal on the antenna to have a perfect looking job in the end. So ive searched almost all over the internet trying to find a direct fit ABS plastic cap that would fit right on top of the antenna as a direct fit. There are absolutely NO websites or even ebay that sells such a thing. What I have found all over the internet was fake antennas. Basically they are just a plastic antenna with 3M tape at the bottom of it. They are meant to be put onto a car that doesnt have an antenna at all. Which I have no idea anyone would want to do this but that is besides the point.
Here is what I mean: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Shark-...06643a&vxp=mtr
We need someone to develop a cover to fit right over the existing antenna. Basically something extremely similiar to what I posted above but with a hollow inside. I think that this would be an awesome product for people to have an oppurtunity to change the color of there antenna to maybe match some small accessories around the car such as Brake Calipers, Badges, Emblems, Window Trim and of course to match their gloss black roof Wrap. I would also love to see a carbon fiber cover because I think that would be an absolute awesome seller and I would 100% purchase that for my car.
Please let me know what you think about this idea and hopefully we can get this going with fellow audizine members helping out!!!
