Picked up a '15 S3 last Friday from NJ, since they had the combo and price I wanted...but which dealerships do you guys like for warrantied service in Boston? I had a B6S4 wagon for years that I would drive out to Advanced Tech in Gloucester MA...but for the first 50k miles, should I go Prime Audi (Westwood), Audi Natick, Audi Brookline...where? If anyone has a service tech in particular they know/like, that would be really helpful.

I base my experiences on how mod friendly a dealership is.

Did you buy Audi Care, or just going to the dealer for the first 50k of service appointments?

I was a long-time B6 A4 owner and went to Brian's Garage after my 4-year/40k free service (remember when automakers did that?!) ended. I would highly recommend them for servicing if you are paying out of pocket; just save all your receipts if a warranty issue pops up and you will be fine.

I bought my 2015 S4 at Audi Brookline and brought it back due to a clunk coming from the rear end, which they diagnosed and fixed in 24 hours. I did Audi Care since it was actually a better deal than going to an indie shop due to the DSG transmission, otherwise I would have taken my S4 back to Brian's Garage.

I bought mine at Audi Burlington. Had good experiences for the most part. They charge a lot for labor as any dealer does. Always gave me a loaner... Well they got me a rental a few times, wasn't thrilled about that but oh well.

Audi Brookline, before they were bought by Herb Chambers, MY GOD THEY WERE AWFUL. Charged me nearly $300 to tell me what the problem was and then REFUSED to fix it the way I wanted it done (replace 1 part that I was not able to replace and allow me to replace the other part myself). I then asked them if they would sell me the harness plug which they also DECLINED to do. I also asked them to give it a full detail and wax because I hadn't been able to do it myself for awhile. I go to pick up my car and it wasn't even cleaned! Had to have them remove the cleaning request as they had not performed it at all. I didn't care for how the Service Rep handled it so I filled out his survey with honest answers only to get an e-mail response from him being like "we did everything we said and I even did x,y,z." I then wrote a 500 word essay that ripped apart how he did NOTHING that I asked and the X,Y,Z is what I originally asked for. I did not get a response.

Audi Westwood All day everyday! Honestly they are the only dealership i allow touch my car (Speedlife motorsport is the only tuner shop i trust but thats another topic). Wetwood is also 'mod friendly' so if you are tuned/have excess mods they tend to keep their heads. Audi service tech ask for Chris Cavalieri he's the best but all the guys there seem pretty reliable.

+1. Love Westwood and not just because that's where I bought my car. They take care of you for sure. Sorry OP, can't address your warrantied service question yet since I've only taken my Q in for the seasonal tire change (meh, laziness at its finest). Dunno why it took a couple of hours to get done... but they hooked me up with a nice loaner and also gave me an excuse to check out the lot filled with some sweet machines! Also FWIW, even though it's closer to me, I personally avoid Natick. My buds have some horror stories over there that I'm not at liberty to discuss.

GL bud and congrats on your new S3! Enjoy!

Yup, went to the old Audi Brookline for my last free service and figured I would got back once the free-service period ended since I had recently moved to Boston. I think they charged me something like $250 for an oil change on my B6 A4, and that was the last time I went there. A friend recommended Brian's Garage and went there for the next ~6 years.

I got a shady vibe from Natick when I called about buying an S4. I was looking for a very specific combo of options on my S4 and the saleswoman IMMEDIATELY responded, "Yes, we have that in stock. What time can you come in?" without checking the inventory.

Not sure how true this is anymore, was in there the other day for a window issue and asked them to fix my shift knob as it has become loose and they told me it wouldnt be covered since I was TD1... I nearly spat my coffee out

I went to the OLD Audi brookline before to try the S5, the salesman showed it to me in the garage, yep, that's it, not even let me test drive it. No wonder it was bought by Herb Chambers.
I went to Audi Natick to do the service once before, they didn't clean my car after the service, I was fine with that because I could clean it myself. The next time when I called them to book for another service, they didn't want to give me the loaner car because they thought it's a minor service. So I ended up with Audi westwood, which was pretty good.

Lol. Not surprising you picked up that vibe. I know a guy who knows a guy who knows a girl who works at Natick town hall and she checked the records and the dealership actually lies in its own zip code in the town of Shadyville. Experienced the EXACT same thing. Like you, I had a lot of trouble finding the specific options I was looking for, so I come in and the only black optics Q they had was white (no way was I bout to fux with white) and it was sitting in the showroom. Since the struggle to find what I wanted was real AF, I actually attempted to negotiate for their white one. FAIL. Wouldn't wiggle at all--they had no motivation to sell it(semi-understandable since it was in the showroom?). Glad I passed. On top of that, they had no interest in working on an inventory swap to get me close to what I wanted. Threw the dudes business card out in the trash on my way out.... But the horror stories were on the service side, not sales.

Just spat out an LOL. That blows! Unfamiliar with the faulty window mod, might be interested if it yields high HP increase. I thought this type of issue isn't under warranty only if the source of the issue is related to a mod. I'm not familiar with the nuances of TD1. Is it blanket and voids the entire warranty? I can't imagine the VAGcom tweaks(enabling windows up/down w/FOB[if you even have that]) flagging it as TD1. Is it the GIAC tune and subsequent ECU flashing giving you TD1? You gonna take it to an indy?

If you get flagged for TD1 anything associated with the drivetrain will NOT be covered. Engine, transmission, driveshafts, diff, etc.

You could make an argument that the shift knob is technically connected to the drive train, but yea... I shrugged it off said fuck it and will live with it. Now the same dealer said that if something were to happen with say the suspension or interior they would cover it (granted for me i have aftermarket suspension components so thats out as well). I would take anything any dealer ever says with a massive tablespoon of salt

Rick at Auto Engineering (your_daddy on here) handles all the work on my car that I either: screw up myself, don't have time to do, have no clue how to do, and screw up myself

I've had the best luck with Audi Burlington.(I don't use dealerships a ton though) When we picked up the B8 A4 it ended up having the dreaded oil problems and without any issues at all from them we were able to warranty the engine rebuild without having to go through AOA. It went in for the 2 phases and then the engine, each time I was able to pick the loaner car and when the engine was in I was able to pick up a '15 S4 for a week and a half. You can be flagged for anything from aftermarket wheels (wheel-bearing warranty work has been denied) to an ECU tune. One guy had a "cool" SA to only have the TECH take photos of his intake/exhaust and send the pictures directly to Audi; his car was TD1'd between service appointments and the SA finally figured out what happened.

The bottom line: Get your car back to stock (or as close as possible) when going to the dealer.

I've had good experiences with Audi Burlington's service department as well. I always get an Audi loaner and on two occasions kept it for over a week. They always honor my "Do Not Wash" requests (not all dealers do!) and double check with me on software updates so I can decline them.

They have also performed warranty work that I would have completely understood if they opted to deny because of my mods. My car does not have the automated TD1 system the B8s have however.

Just doing dealer, didn't do Audi Care (my mistake).

Thanks for all the replies, sounds like Audi Westwood it is before I throw the AWE exhaust & APR intake on. Fromario, was your car TD1 before this appointment somehow? Just a shift knob seems excessive...

Unofficially my car was TD1 from my first service (I went stage 1 within a month of having the car), but my philosophy has always been that if you don't want to get flagged, don't install anything aftermarket

For me, I have a hard time owning stock cars so I accept the risk

Most dealers don't care about catback exhausts. However if you put on an intake, ECU tune, pulley, or something else, they begin to care.

I see just wondering since I'm relatively new to Audi and how they flag a car anyway. In the subaru community it was hard just to even get my dealer to look at my old wrx back then

I have to put in an A+++ for the Audi Brookline service department... since it has been re-vamped after the Herbie take over. They have a few mechanics who are Audi nuts... owning and modding their own cars. The 2 I have met in person, Angelo and Paul, have been extremely helpful and both are highly skilled in their trade. Paul has been R8 certified as well. I have only been in for oil changes with my '15 A5, but had my '11 A6 in for CPO repairs, with absolutley no complaints at all.

I think you will do very well should you stop by... See Max Ha at the service desk, he will treat you right!
Family comes First!.... Nice cars a close second.

Semi-Daily Driver: 2016 A8L, Glacier White... Where to begin with the mods??? SOLD!
