Swap seats from B8 S4 to Allroad

I tried this in the Avants Only forum but not sure if there is enough traffic there. I am curious if anyone as swapped seats into an Allroad, specifically the rear seats are the concern. Will the rear seats from the sedan work in the Allroad?

I doubt the rears are interchangeable between the Sedan and Avant

Don't know if you've ever come across this - and I don't know if they're still doing it, (thread TLDR), but a company called Sinister Autoworks makes adapter frames and wiring harnesses. It's on my bucket list for my allroad - b7 though, because I'm a cheap bastard. Here's a thread:

I'm 99.999% sure the rears would be impossible - unless you throw enough money at the problem. Good luck, and update us on what you do!

Thanks all for the responses. Based on feedback here and my educated guess by looking at pics I will not be doing this. Ebay had a set of S4 seats that were black with the red inserts that I would have loved to have. Figured it would be a long shot to make the swap. Maybe some day I will see about doing the front seats at least. Would think those should just bolt in. Will focus efforts on spring install instead.

Swap seats from B8 S4 to Allroad

On the B6/7, you can swap rear seats by disassembling and swapping the seatbacks. I'm hoping that this is also the case on the B8 Avant/allroad, since it's on my list of to-dos.

Bumping an old thread. Has anyone swapped front and more importantly rears from a B8 S4 into a B8 Allroad? I found a nice pair of black with alcantara but I can't find any posts on this swap.

If it's an S4 avant, it'll be easy. But the seat backs are different in a sedan vs a wagon.

If you swap out the part 3 and the part 13-14 and add the parts 30-33, maybe it would work out?

Not quite the direct answer to the OP's question, however I just did the back seat S4 swap in my 09 Avant (front seats were done some time ago). This is one of the easier jobs to do actually and the rear seats were a direct swap. The only concern point can be if the airbag connector is the same or not (this wire is on the passenger side upper seatback). I have read there may have been a change at some point, though I am unsure on this ? Other than that, it was a direct swap.

A few notes to consider - the sedan seats have a ski pass through in the center that the Avant did not have and the rear screen connections on the back of the upper seat backs will not be present with the sedan seat backs. Lastly, the sedan seatbacks have locks fitted to the release levers and passthrough. Make sure these locks are not in the lock position when you buy the new seats as you will not likely be given the keys that came with the donor car. And lastly, plan on replacing the little white plastic tabs that secure the seat bottom into the body frame. They are not reusable and destroyed when you pull the old seat bottom out.

yes, pretty straight forward. I swapped from a b8.5 s4 into my avant, the only thing I had to modify was the plugs for the front seats. pretty easy to do, just cut and solder (you might have to swap one of the drivers side modules under the seat as well to avoid throwing a code/have full functionality). entire swap took me about 2hrs
