Ive looked around a little bit, does anyone besides autopower make a full roll cage for the B5 chassis?

    Go custom or GTFO.

Seriously, you want a cage to look like a baller? Use pvc piping.

You want a cage to protect your life while you use your car beyond its intended limits? Dont cheap out.

Hey, there are some people out there.....

Get a decent cage. It will cost a lot, but your life is worth a lot. Probably.

Maybe hit up the scca or nasa regional forums to see who is near you?
There are only 2 things needed to make an Audi work properly - Duct tape and WD40. If it moves and it shouldn't - Duct tape. If it doesn’t move and it should - WD40.

I was wondering about that also. But that is the one that was used in the Speed Challenge series S4's that did so well back in the early 2000's. I guess the t45 steel is much lighter than the usual cold drawn seamless. Looks like a good set of tubes.

If i recall correctly, the proper cage requires full strip so they can bake the welds/car -- about half the weight of the typical cage, and twice the price.

I had an nhra cert cage built without baking
the car. Just has to have a certain number of points,
welds, metallurgy, Etc. I realized that most people
that have so many damn bars usually do it just
for show. I saw plenty of other 8.5 certified cars
that you couldn't even tell were caged until you
sat in the driver seat and inspected the interior.

I don't like to endorse any aftermarket products because i feel like experiences vary widely, but I feel safe in recommending Piper motorsports. That's where I will be getting mine done, and I have a few friends with cages from them. There is a wait list, but they move fast. Here is the website, (http://www.pipermotorsport.com/pages...ages-roll-bars) want proof that the cages work? Watch the video of the Evo, he walked away. Buddy knows the guy and said the interior cam doesn't do it justice. Apparently the only thing left was the cage.

Oh! Also best of luck in your racing endeavors, shoot me a PM when you get the car together. Would love to hear more about it!

Edit: Damnit I keep remembering to add stuff, Kiku (on here) is currently in the process of building a B5 trackcar. Pm him if you would like to see first hand what the cages look like.

Get a cage done by a shop that does motorsports cages, plan on the roof being cut off and put back on. Lemons has real deal crashes.

it's the metal choice that requires baking -- the nikkel content of chromoly vs mild steel.

and a full motorsports cage will be noticable with x braces accross the rear seats.

^Shit like that scares the crap out me when doing HDPE's... Freak tire puncture or brake failure and it can be nasty. Looks like the guy went end-over-end once and then rolled the rest...

My dad had complete brake failure at Sebring one year... T-9, which is the 10 mph hairpin after the long straight for anyone unfamiliar with the track. Corner workers said he moved the concrete barriers 4ft... Needless to say we had to cut and reweld a new the front clip on the car cause it was basically a crushed soda can after that : / Thank god the car was rear engine, but roll-overs freak me out.
