Thinking of pulling the trigger on the BC Racing coilovers: http://www.modbargains.com/bc-racing...i-b8-a4-s5.htm

Thinking of putting these on my 2015 AllRoad. They are compression AND rebound adjustable for $1,000. Just wanted to know if anyone is running them, or if there is a cheaper option since these are just to hold me over until I go Air Ride.

I've had them on my 09 since February. The build quality appears to be very good. The springs are linear, so even at the softer shock settings, the ride will be firmer than that of my stock sport suspension. I'm currently set at 8 in front and 10 in the rear, so I could venture into fairly harsh territory at stiffer settings.
I got mine from Modded Euros. With their 5% Audizine discount, my cost shipped was just under $950. Unfortunately, they don't carry the BC's anymore, or at least it's not shown on their website.
You may want to consider Megan Racing coilovers offered by ESC. They seem very similar in function to the BCs, and at $899 are a little cheaper.

I ran them for a few thousand miles before I switched to airride. They were decent riding coil overs for the money but they didn't ride anywhere near as nice as the KWs I had in my B7. Id say for the money you cant go wrong though. If your looking to go super low these aren't the coils to do so on. I ended up getting shorter springs in the front and taking out 2 perch rings to get the ride height I wanted. Picture for reference.

02-BC coils have been around for a while and are a good mid-level coilover system. As bob indicated, the springs are a linear rated so you'll definitely feel the harshness of the ride. PM me if you need some feedback on the 15" allroad setup. I Just installed a set last weekend.

What spring rates did YOU go with? It sounds like I need to come down a little bit on the rates from what you guys have. I'm not running this car on a track, so I still want to maintain a factory-like ride

Will I need the SPC adjustable control arm kit?

We are a BC dealer and they have been getting great feedback on them lately. Lmk if you want a set for a little less than $1000 shipped.

I did not go with BC, I went with a different manufacture that offers a progressive spring rate. It suits my needs much better.

No, you do not need adjustable control arms. I actually had my alignment done today and the rears are within factory spec. The fronts have a tad more negative camber than factory but the cost of adjustable upper control arms would be cost prohibitive to get back .2 degrees of camber. Toe is the most important factor and my setup is within factory secs.

For this reason, I wouldn't get BC coilovers. Linear coils arent as forgiving for a daily driver You can read more here

    http://blog.modbargains.com/linear-r...best-4-street/

With that said, they perform better on the track where there's less road inconsistencies. If you're looking for a factory ride and eventually plan on going with air, I'd just go with ST or Solowerks. I installed ST coilovers with the eventual goal of going air.

This depends on if you can live with having your front end alignment a little off. Our upper arms aren't adjustable, so while they may be within factory spec, your passenger side may be -1.3 and your driver side at -1.9. If thats acceptable to you then they're not needed. I'm too meticulous, so I installed a set. My alignment is perfect and I can definitely tell the difference.

I like the ST coilovers, but it say it lowers the front 1.8" and the rear 1.4"...I have a 4x4 Allroad....I don't think that's going to allow me to go as low as I want.

It looks like the Solowerks go 2.5" front AND rear.

If you want something that goes low and its going to be temporary get solowerks. They go pretty low, I'm happy with mine. I'm going to switch them though pretty soon to some custom coilovers.

I can still go lower on the coilovers.

they go decently low... i wouldn't necessarily go by those posted specs. There's a user on here running them and he's pretty low with an allroad. I'm not sure if he's on 20s or 19s tho.

If you can wait 3 more weeks, I'll give you a "no-holds bard" review on the Solo Werks coilover setup. I'm pretty sure the ST coils will go plenty low for you. On my allroad, I still have at least an 1 1/2" left to go down.

Scroll up Mwhit02. Mine's the white allroad. That's the current height with plenty of room to go up for down. To give you an idea, here are the specs I sent over to Solo Werks for their database:

    FL: 26 1/4” GTF
    FR: 26 1/8” GTF
    RL: 26 5/8” GTF
    RR: 26 5/8” GTF

Your final height is determined only by the weight of your car and the stiffness of the springs, published drop numbers are based on testing a single vehicle, likely the non-sport A4.
Because you are starting at a higher point your drop will be greater.
Compare your stock GTF to zcspec's numbers and you get a ballpark for your expected drop as these coilovers are all in the same ballpark on ride height.

So the ST or Solo Werks give you a much smoother ride?

Most people complain that the STs go too low, but yes they still ride great.

Some people complain that the highest setting is too low, ST offers different height spacers to help alleviate. It is just funny that most every other platform people complain that the STs don't go low enough.

Why can’t I go lower in my b8 s5? This is the 1st time I’m having an issue with going low with bc’s. I’m kind of upset being stuck at that height. I need MOAR LOW lol
