I'm looking for one of these that work with our motors and work with the motor mount installed (block subframe brackets with motor mounts installed).

I need it to work off these brackets (motor mounts) as this clears room for all accessories, as I don't want to suspend a bare block in the air, there needs to be room on both sides of the block.

    Wow, good deal there!

Don't you have a welder? A couple bars across there with some extra mounts to bolt to your mount and you are good.

Actually, upon a closer look, it would be pretty cool to make a mount. The motor mounts look like they would almost drop into the angled plates, and you could put a bar across the other plates for the snub mount. I dont think much fabrication would be need to adapt it to a 1.8

    That's a good buy.

I purchased a similar one 2 weeks ago. I had my BFM motor on a regular engine stand, good enough for certain jobs, but leaving no room to install flywheel, clutch and transmission.

It took some adapting, but it works a treat.

Might be better to modify those 2 vertical brackets so that you can bolt them to the back of the block where it attaches to the bellhousing. If I needed an engine stand I wouldn't think twice about buying one of these and modifying it, the stand is only marginally more expensive than what I would pay if I were to buy the steel stock and casters myself.

Looking at this motor cradle, I would not advice you go with it. It's fixed height, width and length, kind of limits configuration and flexibility.

But a little bit of time and you could make a nicer one....

I wouldnt worry about height. Says it is 18" tall. Add in the height of the mounts, and the top of the head would be right around your chest.

When I say height adjustable, I'm not really referring to working height. Mine is height adjustable at the angled-bracket ends, meaning you could tilt the motor front to rear, which would be beneficial depending on what you were working on.

Also the motor may sit too high at the mount end, and you may wish to lower it.

Sometimes a level motor may not be ideal.

Well, I was just throwing out that Jeg's cradle as a reference and not specifically looking at that one but show casing how cheap they are and how it sucks how everything under the sun exsists for everyone else. I have a stick welder, yet no experience and not sure I want to suspend a built motor off a "I know nothing about welding." built engine stand. I understand I need to learn but probably need a mig & was hopefully looking to find something out there someone has found. What I need is 80 hr days to exsist, my time is 1000% invested into building and building I'm trying to buy something opposed to building something as I don't have enough time in a day. If I wasn't at work typing this I'd be in the garage, not typing this :).

I was thinking that a prebuilt stand would be bought, then the "arms ( cradle mount mounts)" would be cut off and rewelded to fit the ~oem longituide position.

I did see a cradle where the base was built, and the "arms" were bolted to the lower cradle. The lower arms were 3 way boxed and fit over the lower dolly base section and then bolted to predrilled holes. So technically they would fit 100% everywhere and would just be a matter of redrilling holes to secure the cradle arms to the cradle dolly base. Maybe a solution. The question is if you could swing the "cradle motor mount mounts" out far enough to mate to the engine motor mounts.

All you need to know is at what point you blow through the metal. Back it off from that a tad and you have full penetration ;) I only oxy acetylene and mig, but if you have multiple points where it rests I wouldn't worry about your welding abilities with the stick. They don't weigh very much.

You could make and bolt plates to the existing flanges if you've got a torch.
