2014 AUDI A5 2.0T PREMIUM - Price question and feedback

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi all...

I'm brand new to this forum, I just had my 2013 335i RWD M-Sport TOTAL (water demadge), and since I always had BMW, maybe now is time to try brand new waters.

I found this perfect shape 2014 AUDI A5 2.0T PREMIUM with 26K miles, Gray exterior / Black interior / MANUAL TRANSMISSION / 1 owner / 0 issues on CARFAX.

They were asking 32K, I got down to 29K cash.

Is this a good deal? How fun is the car in comparison to my ex BMW 335i RWD M-Sport?

My fear is to buy something this expensive, not like it then not be able to sell it for the same price.

My concern would be the downgrade in horsepower. I had a 2008 is350 which was comparable to your 335i in power. The horsepower difference is not huge but its noticeable. I added a stage 1 Apr flash and that narrowed the gap significantly. My question would be can you live with the horsepower difference. Add the flash for 600 bucks and I think you might be alright.

    Good luck.

I'm planing to keep this car for about 1 - 2 years max and if I like then move to an RS 5 (new model when comes out), and if I don't then 2017 M3 here I come.

With BMW's I always know what to get or must have:

Sport Package (Seats are great and the steering wheel looks good, also the sport suspension)
6 CYL (as BMW 4 cly is a joke, noise as a tractor)
RWD (BMW's XDrive are horrible, no one makes better AWD than audi)

Since I'm trying to save money for a year and yet drive a NICE and enjoyable car, this audi seems to fit me, and stage 1 maybe an option as long it is removable.

Please let me know your input.

    Thank you.

Most will say our A5's sound like a Prius as the 4 cylinder is pretty quiet. The APR stage 1 flash is removable as well. It sounds like a filler car so it sounds like it should fit the bill until you get your next car.

    Does the price sounds right?

Also, where can I find APR stage 1, and also the best deal... I looked at ebay and I could not find it.

    Thank you

the noob is extremely strong with this one. but its ok. we are here to help :)

I think its a decent deal. my buddy just bought a 2012 w/ 3x,xxx miles for 29k with CPO warranty and navi. urs does not have navi, not sure how important that is to you.

APR stage 1 is a flash. you will need to go to www.goapr.com and find your nearest dealer. just remember doing this ecu upgrade will void your warranty if caught by audi.

I'm a pre-facelift guy, so I would say you could also consider a CPO 2011 A5. Will either save you some money or allow you to get more options and stay in the same price range. Performance will be the same.

Nav would be great but not necessary, now manual transmission is absulutly necessery

Can the APR stage 1 be removed at any time prior any oil change or visi to the dealer? Also does it leave any code in the computer?

    Thank you

Better off getting an older model s5 at that price. 220 hp for almost 30k coming from a 335 is going to feel like driving a truck. Buy a new car air freshener and put it in.

Good man. FL manual is the way to go (coming from a previous pre-FL B8 2.0T auto owner).

The ECU can be reflashed to stock at anytime, very easily, but I think you are always taking a risk with Audi finding out. Some people say flashing back to stock worked for them, some say you need to have your exact ecu fireware reflashed and flash counter reset. It's a gamble, but one I made, the gains are great.

Another deal just came up... Audi A4 Premium S-Line Quattro 2014 with 22K miles, SAME PRICE! The only difference is that the A5 has extended warranty... so which one now?

I know we are about to get a new redesign Audi A4, and the A5 will still the same body shape till the end of next year, which I believe it will hold its value better, what do you think?

The truth is the A5 will not compare well with a 335i RWD M-Sport (apples/oranges). At least look for an A5 with the sports package, so you can get the sports seat, lowered suspension, 19" wheels... The handling is better but the ride is still nice, also looks better.

A4's are a dime a dozen...the A5 is a little more unique in my opinion.

Downgrade in power but if you tune it with APR E85 you can push more horses out of that engine...

I think you need to figure out what important to you; Are you looking for a Coupe or Sedan, comfort or sporting, manual or auto... etc, etc, then sort in an order of importance, this way the right car will be easier to find.

Audi prices the A5 higher than the A4. In this case, this likely translates into the A5 having an higher used car price. The pricing difference between a vehicle with 22,000 miles and 26,000 miles is somewhat negligible. From the information provided, the A5 seems like the better deal. Of note, the A4 pictured above seems to be equipped with low-priced aftermarket wheels. If they are simply a set of snow wheels and tires, why did the seller not take a more recent photograph of the vehicle? You should ask the seller if they will including the OEM wheels with the vehicle.
