Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I never thought I'd say that , but after 3500 miles this is what it feels like . I started looking for mods , but all I found is exhaust , intake , tune st1 already in the car

am I missing something ? 034 trans diff in ther car also ., AMS cooling might be later , want change the filling .
I was looking in to RS7 but but still early . so right now I'm in "S" mode 99% of time , gives me more fun .
    1) what modes I'm missing ?
    2) do you expirience the same ?
been even looking at hellcat but no no ....

    Fix it for you.

On a more serious note to OP, I don't think anything is missing. It's just you are so used to a smaller car from your owning history. S6 is not a car that you can toss around like those compact sedans and it's leaning toward more on luxury than sporty. I don't think you are going to be much happier with RS7 anyway even if someone can really give you a good deal for your fairly new S6.

I had always thought my S6 was boring, until I got rid of it.

In hindsight I realized that the main issue was that it executed everthing so perfectly that the car never felt out of control, which gave me a false sense of underperformance.

    Comfort while driving = 100%
    Passing power = 100%
Ability to handle on the road course = 100%
Power at drag strip = 100%

All while being able to get nearly 30MPG while driving at posted highway speed limits.

Pretty close to the perfect car.

Had a Hellcat. Too fast. You barely get on the gas and you're at 50, 60... It's just too beastly for regular driving. Great weekend only car but as a commuting car of any kind, no way. HC has 8 gears and I could easily hit 60 in first

The S6 is 110% more refined in terms of luxury and comfort but also turns into a fun toy when you get on the gas... If I could do it all over again I would probably get the S7 since it has a slightly sportier look but otherwise the S6 is a more enjoyable car than the HC in every way. The HC is a RWD muscle car, plain and simple, hardly cross shoppable with an S6. HC has reverse tilt mirrors, heated/ventilated seats as an example of some lux features, but it's a stiff ride even in street mode. Not to mention you can break the tires loose up to 40, 50... plan on having a nice tire budget ;)

You cannot toss around the HC either, I had the Charger but the Challenger shares a lot of the same dynamics. They are huge, 4500 lb cars... you definitely feel the weight of the car. They are fairly nimble in corners but nothing like a smaller car. You will lose the rear end on the HC extremely easily! I found it fun at first but after awhile it got annoying. I could never tap into the power band as easily as teh S6 allows because if you feathered that throttle just a little too hard you were in for a wild ride

To the OP - it says you are in the Midwest but if you are in the Chicago area, the Audi Exchange has a 2014 Volcano Red RS7 sitting out front - saw it the other day when I went in for my first oil change. Very tempting even if it is 2 years older than mine.

Yes S6 feels (but it is not) slow because it has power lag and it is too big/heavy. I came from a B8.5 S4 to a 2016 S6 and I felt I downgraded in terms of "fun to drive". That's why I sold my 2016 S6 with only 900 miles.

I bought a BMW M235i and I saved enough money left to buy an SUV or a used S4 as a second car.

^^ exactly. But if you're going to go that route why not just get the RS7? Tuned RS7 is faster than the S6 after turbo swap

If he is looking for the varieties of mods that he can throw into the car, getting RS7 would bore him anyway but I don't disagree with you though, the cost of S6 + stage 3 mod come really close to a used RS7 but you don't have to deal with the chance that your car might get flagged with RS7.

The M235i has a lot of raw power. It feels like a wild animal in a cage. Its comfort mode feels like S4/S6 in dynamic. Then the sport and sport+ modes make it feel like a race car.

I believe the numbers that NGP ran were against a tuned RS7. Same 1/2 mile time.

    Stage 2 or 3 RS7, on the other hand…

I think you should sell the S6 and not get another Audi, nothing else will be exciting if you don't already like the current vehicle. Maybe a GTR, 911TT, Aventador...there are plenty out there that will be more exciting.

^ this, but you don't have to spend that much for a more exciting car.

Sell your S6 and with the money you get you have two options:
option 1: buy two cars. A smaller fun car f.e. Bmw M235i or S3 and a bigger sedan/SUV if you need the extra space
option 2: buy one fun car fe. a certified 2012 Panamera Turbo or certified 2014 Mercedes E63 AMG or Bmw M3

    I personally chose option 1.

Not sure how you could have owned these previously and be satisfied with anything less than 700 hp... what did you expect? :D

Funny how one company puts the effort in testing and validating this upgrade, and others jump on the bandwagon to put a "kit" out that they have no idea about what it takes to make it right.

Me, being the RS7 that was part of the side by side testing done by New German Performance to bring you this kit, I would advise people to tread carefully in buying a "kit" from someone else who did not actually do any testing on the actual upgrade.

These are factory parts available from any source if you know what to order, it's nothing particularly special. There was no need to advertise the items previous to software being available, however I have had 2 customers over the course of the last few years purchase a similar set of items to do work on their own with the RS turbos and intake items, all they had to do was inquire and get pricing, now anyone can purchase through the website if wanted. These items have been available since the day the RS6/7 models were sold.

It's much like purchasing RS4 turbochargers for your S4 2.7t model. Factory items offered by Audi and there is a set group of factory items that are needed on the intake side along with optional items to couple together with them for physical fitment. It isn't anything unique or special and the item that makes the parts function is software.

The software available now works with factory RS6/7 components. If you wanted you could head to your dealership down the road and buy the same items, but you can purchase them for less from any vendor that you prefer.

    Cheers,
    Alexander van Gerbig

I was looking in to RS7 but but still early . so right now I'm in "S" mode 99% of time , gives me more fun .
    1) what modes I'm missing ?
    2) do you expirience the same ?
been even looking at hellcat but no no ....
So what is that the S6 doesn't give you that you are looking for? A statement like "it's boring" without elaborating is meaningless. It is fast as hell, sounds great, has a stunning interior and amazing sound system. The S6/S7/RS7 are big powerhouse luxury sedans. If you want a lighter, more nimble car, then you just need a different car.
