Sedan Trunk Hooks in Avant: Yes or No?

Don't mind the electrical tape holding it in place, but yes or no for mounting a set of A4 Sedan Trunk hooks on either side (or maybe just one side), of the rear side panels in an Avant?

Do it, I love those things and use them quite frequently on my sedan. I've seen it done on a couple of B6/7 Avants. I bet if you search through AZ archives, you'll find some pictures.

My Avant has hooks closer to the back (smaller than what you show in the picture) that you don't appear to have. Mine also has a retaining strap that runs front to back in the cargo area half way up the side that you have pictured which you also don't appear to have ever had ? (you don't appear to have the mounting holes or the latch options for the strap). I thought that was on every B6 Avant but apparantly not. Do you have the cargo net and/or privacy screen? There are also two hooks on the horizontal part of the cargo cover I don't see on yours too.

Is it possible that was all part of the cold weather package? Do you have a ski bag built into the back of the rear arm rest?

Ironically I do have two of those exact same red tie downs though ha ha.

No small clips towards the rear, no retaining strap, no mounting holes for either. No hooks on the cargo cover that I am aware of. Can you post of PM me a photo of your trunk area, and more specifically these hooks? I've seen the rear hooks, and the retaining strap before, but not the hooks on the cargo cover.

I do have a cargo net, but bought it off ebay (OEM), as I am the second owner of the car, I am not sure if it originally had one. I do have the cargo area cover and privacy screen (I assume you mean the vertical screen that connects up to the side roof panels above the rear headrests?)

I don't have the cold weather package, so no ski bag or pass through in the rear middle armrest. No rear cup holders either which annoys me.

FYI, my car is a 1.8T FrontTrak CVT, so didn't come with a few things the 3.0 or Quattro's did. Also i am in Canada which I have found has different packages then the US did. In any case, this just means more retrofitting for me, to get it as much functionality as possible, keeping the OEM look and style.

I am also trying to find a Canada 2004 A4 sales brochure which is no where to be found online. I have a 2003, but want the 2004 if I can find one.

Sure I'll post up some pics when I get home from work. My car's a Canadian spec 2005 USP 1.8T Avant. The hooks on the cargo cover allow you to mount the cargo net vertically by hooking those little loops onto them when you fold the cargo net in half, letting you use the pocket as a pocket.

Nice, I see the retaining strap being super handy but suppose that's a hard party to come by secondhand these days.
The three hooks on the cargo cover are certainly a nice feature too, I wonder if that's something that could be jerry rigged without causing any damage to the cover itself, would need some precise dimming and screw lengths to do it right!

Full right side panel for an Avant in Sabre (black) comes with all of the little plastic trim clips/hooks/etc including the elastic strap above. Dealer list price is over $500.

Funny I was looking in my Avant trunk in detal and cleaning it out for the 1st time since buying the car and noticed I had the 3 hooks as shown above... I also have the cargo retainer net that extends to the roof in my V70R. In that car it is made of a material that looks similar to the lower diamond pattern netting in our cars only stiffer with horizontal squares not the mosquito style upper cargo netting we have in the A4.

Also I have 2 cargo nets. I used one along the floor using the 4 corner hooks and set up the 2nd as shown above. This should allow lots of flexibility with shopping bags etc...

I know - right? I was gonna post about them and saw MacFady not only had the hooks but also applied the same idea to the cargo net I had just done like 2hrs ago.

Guess I dont need the sedan hooks now.

Mine is an '04, 1.8T FrontTrack.
It must be tied to either Quattro models, 3.0T engine, or a special options (cold weather?) package.
