    OEM Interior Trim Guide?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Has anyone ever compiled a comprehensive OEM interior trim guide? I've searched, and I haven't come up with anything that seems to give a good overview of what trim finishes were available on given years and trim lines. I've just recently purchased a 2011 avant, and it has the hideous silver plastic trim pieces. They are showing their age with scratches etc, and I'm eager to replace them with something a little more upscale. I know there were numerous options available new, but I'm having a hard time figuring out which options were available when, and what each of the various available finishes look like.

I'd gladly compile the information if people will send me high quality shots of their various trims, along with their model year and trim level....

Anyone interested in contributing to this?

Most people will wrap them in brushed aluminum vinyl or carbon fiber.

I think this would be interesting to compile. I'll start it off:

2009 A4 Premium, 2.0T Quattro. Brilliant black over Cardamom Beige leather, with Ash Almond wood trim.

FWIW I believe that wood trim has been a standalone option throughout the model's run, but they did add and remove colors sporadically throughout.

I think your car was produced when there was a shortage of the base aluminum hologram trim, which actually looks pretty nice imo.
Those cars got the silver plastic trim along with a few hundred dollar credit.

    Year: 2011
Model: A4 Avant with 18" Sports Package (PPS)
    Ext Color: Quartz Gray (Q4Q4)
    Int Color: Light Gray (GQ)
Interior Trim: I think the 2011 order guide refers to these as the 'Micrometallic Inlays' (although, they are about as far from metallic as you can get...) The order guide discusses that these became the standard for the 2011 models in the 46th week of 2010. So I assume that if you have a 2011 that was produced before this point, you have what the order guide refers to as 'Aluminum Hologram' trim, which is what I think a lot of people on here refer to as the 'fishing lure' trim. Regardless, I think it was the base option in 2009 and 2010. I'd be curious if anyone on here has a 2011 with those pieces without having checked any of the option boxes.

    Anyway, on to the pictures!

no kidding! That would be a good explanation for why this trim got into the car. I can see that it might have looked OK when the car was new, but since its pretty much plastic that has been spray painted, its gets easily nicked and scratched. See my post above for details.

Did the 2012s and on get the 'Aluminum Hologram' trim back as standard?

I'm diggin that color combination as well as your steering wheel. The sport wheel that was available in 2011 was essentially the same one they had been using since the B6, and IMO it looks a bit dated.

This isn't my actual car (from Audi publicity when the AR was reintroduced) but it is the exact same setup minus the sport wheel and Nav.

I fell in love with it as it warmed up the interior. I think it was only available as an option for MY '13 and '14.

That was standard from '09-present as far as I know.

Here is what I did with plasti dip before I get it professionally done. Still can't decide if I want to strip the scale look with Acetone or keep it.

Wasn't a combo I would have ordered but I really liked it when I saw it in person. Very different than the standard black interiors you see everywhere. The matte finish on the wood is really nice.

    Chestnut Brown Leather Sport Seats
Fine Grain Ash Natural Brown Wood Inlay

This is what I wanted to order with my allroad ------ with the black headliner ---- but my wife says she hated the color. That's why I have the setup I have now.

This is the same seat & trim combo a family member's '14 allroad has. Its over a glacier white, full paint with the black headliner. I would trade in a heartbeat, but I would miss my manual too much, and my B&O. The side assist is nice however.

One of my buddies has a '14 phantom black A4 with the chestnut interior and aluminum trim, and it is an awesome contrast.

    Your's is very nice!

    Thanks,
Mine is a '14 Phantom Black P+ with a Manual Transmission. I wish I had side assist, but I have B&O, MMI, and the Sport Package though.
