How do the 8L S3's compare to B5 S4's?

The 8L S3 has a longitudinally-installed engine, and came with a K04. That K04 is more potent than the K04 for the A4 1.8T. I believe it will be similar to the Audi TT225.
I bet with a tune the 8L S3 would actually fare pretty well against a stock B5 S4, based on what I've read (~260-280 crank hp).

The 8L S3 is a 1.8T, but the forged internals, K04 225 variant and it is a transversely installed engine. The car shares the same chassis as a mk4 VW. Stock they are rated 225hp and weigh a decent bit less than a B5S4. A buddy has 1 in NY that has a bunch done to it

swap and ran 8's without a dog box with
interior intact. Usp's s4 runs a complete
01e dog box. I think it's a cool little hatch.
It comes in nogaro blue sport package as well.

it's the same drivetrain as a mk1 TT 225.
k04-2x turbo is unique to the "225" . largest turbo that came on the MK4 platform stock. motor came stock with slightly lower compression and larger 20mm wristpins and stronger rods. only marginally better than the standard 1.8T. as said before transversally mounted haldex awd hatchback like the MK4 R32. 6 speed manual 02m.

with a good stage 2 tune its pretty common to see around high 2xxwhp and the same ball park in torque

I have a TT225 with a flash. intercooler intake and full 3in turboback. it's quick enough to have fun in but would have a damn hard time keeping up with anything other than a bone stock b5 s4. MAYBE a stg 1 OTS tuned one. the 2.7 just has so much more torque.

my friend and I raced my stg3 allroad vs the TT , the TT had no chance at all. the 2.7T just has so much more torque. the TT wish suspension work its a hilariously fun little go kart though!

Oh I remember Darien, many cross country and tennis meets there. That's kind of the same at GHS, which made it fun to shit all over the kids who thought their GTIs and 328i were the best thing since sliced bread with my 1996 Saab.
