    Brake rotor set screw missing

I just noticed that one of the screws that hold the brake rotor to the hub is missing. The part costs like .99 cents but $ 6.00 to ship, and I'm 30 minutes from the dealer. I would assume the screw is nothing too special and can be sourced at a well stocked hardware store.

    Anyone know the size offhand?

the screw is not necessary, it's primarily for assembly line process.

2nd, no rush to put that in, it only helps for install, the wheel is pressing the rotor to the hub.

Thanks for the reassurance, I figured it was OK as long as the rotor was flush on the hub.

It also prevents the rotor from rotating while you are changing wheels, and thus misaligning the hub holes from the rotor ones. Like the others mentioned the rotor is secured via the main wheel lugs.

After a short while the rotors should be mechanically welded to the hub. I had to use a 3lb sledge to get mine off.

+1, I'm pretty sure I am going to have that issue when I change my pads/rotors in the next month. It wasn't loose.

it shouldn't if you put some antiseize all over the hub prior to install

True, I didn't have any handy on my last rotor change. I've done that before in other cars though it works pretty well, I usually dont think about those things until later lol.

I've also noticed that hitting the rotor with a dead blow hammer towards the car actually works better than hammering away.

The biggest reason I use them is to help line up the holes in the rotor with the hub. Once the wheels on it wont be doing anything.
