^ always loved the AMG wheels. My friend has an AMG but havent got around to taking pics with the wheels on the B7....

car looks great but I'd start w/bi xenons when the funds are around. I wish there was a good wrenching meet around me hahah! my rents are 45min away but when I go there, I spend hourssss in the garage. besides a lift, there is everything else. its like MacGyer's DIY w/anything you can think garage haha. I need to see them ASAP...and abuse their garage!

bi-xenons have been on the list and i've nearly purchased a few times. it's just a toss-up to me because it's something only an audi enthusiast would care about. HID headlights need replaced like once a year while halogens don't. they do look good though and i'll probably cave in eventually.

Well as always its a to each his own kinda thing. I would tackle the headlights first. With the black wheels/black theme you have going, maybe it makes sense to joey and clear corner them? That's a one day project that you could tackle for cheap! As thenofjboy said you could always pursue bixenons and then do the joey/clear cornering on your own time before you put them on the car.

Personally I think there are two ways to go with these cars: you eliminate all chrome accents, or you embrace them. If you go with black wheels, I firmly believe in eliminating chrome accents. If you decide maybe you move to silver wheels, then both chrome and no chrome are good options still. I'd probably pull the grill off and get the grey parts painted black as well, even if you keep the chrome. Basically look at everything you haven't touched yet on the exterior and say, "Have I not touched this because its how I want it already, or have I just not gotten to it yet."

Overall I am a big proponent of having a theme. If you want me to pshop anything (black trim, different wheels, etc.) I'm always happy to do so! As always, these are all very much opinions!

my Relak skirts have been shipped and should be here tomorrow. Ready to throw these on for sure. ericw. your car is looking good. I would agree with the others that bixenons would be the next thin as it makes it look better and also make a huge difference when it comes to night driving I personally think its a must.

I am not sure where you've gotten this information but it's inaccurate. First off, the person the bixenons will make the biggest difference to is you. Not aesthetically, but with improved visibility. The difference is huge. That alone makes them worth it. Secondly, whomever told you they need to be replaced once a year is wrong. Like any bulb, you only replace them when they burn out. To my knowledge our bulbs are original. That means they've lasted 7 years and 90k+ miles. If they're not original, when then they've lasted at least the 4 years that we've owned the car.

Visited the relak site trying to figure out if I need to paint the skirts. Hopefully get mine today. I just want them black is it necessary to paint them? Anyways, look what I saw on their site. Another production run.

    Limited Production: Relak Side Skirts

We are taking orders for our next production run of Side Skirts. For those interested we plan to finallize a head count by end of August with expected shipping set to first week of October!

Let us know if any questions,

Yeah I have to +1 this.

My bulbs have never been replaced in 7 years and 103,000 miles.

Adaptive bixenons are incredible at night. You'll never want to drive a car with halogens again. Frankly its a safety thing. Highways and backroads are way safer with the bixenons and you'll find you don't get as tired at night driving since you can actually see without straining. If you drive a lot, its a huge quality of life difference.

Right on thanks man, I kinda assumed I didn't need to but wanted to have everything in order before they arrived so I can get them on ASAP! Now we know why they didn't want someone making copies of their product. His whole argument was "Relak isn't making them anymore"... well I guess they are.

And if you knew anything about business, you would know that larger production runs would drive down the cost and not make your customers wait months at a clip for a single product. There's a reason 99% of shit on their site is out of stock.

    god personal attacks so quickly?

okay, I own a business and I understand many of the fundamentals. No, I don't know even half there is to know about business in general.

But limited production runs of products is a tactic used by plenty of companies. Keep total good made and sold low, keep price high, always sell out. Never deal with extra inventory and wasted money / materials.

Lamborghini and Ferrari have employed this tactic for 50+ years now and it seems to be working just fine.

Anyways, this is neither here nor there. B7s look badass with the skirts and if I would definitely like a set eventually.

I would say that a $150,000 Lamborghini made by a multi billion dollar company is slightly different than a $450 product made by a company that won't even provide a phone number. There is high demand for these so the stock should be high. Telling people there are only 10 and then a month later making another 10 is sketchy business practice. People would pay a premium for something that is not going to be made anymore, not something the company pretends is going out of stock and then making more of.

CSR side skirts are a fraction of the price and cost about $50 to carbon fiber yourself. Paying $450 for two straight pieces of plastic is insane. I wish I saw the CSR ones before Relak had my money for 4 months. You can get about 4 sets of the CSR ones for the price of one Relak set. Granted, no holes, no hardware, but I think most people can figure that out here.

Idk dude, how many times did Pagani tell us the Zonda was going away after one more final edition?

I'm not saying the price isn't ridiculously high for what it is. But they own the rights to the product, they can price it and build it however they want and as long as it sells, I don't really see a problem. But to be frank, a ton of stuff on this platform is 'overpriced'. Three piece wheels, recaros, FBMFSW, air ride, DTM conversion....these are mods a lot of people are willing to shell out for...even if they are "overpriced".

Yes but there is only one brand recaro. No other company is making a look alike. If they were, people would save the money and get the repros and save money for other mods. I think this is the same circumstance. Why spend almost an extra $200 on a piece of plastic when you could spend far less and get the EXACT se product and not even a repro. The other thread got deleted when everyone bough the last "final run" of these skirts and people were having a hell of a time getting in contact with Relak not to mention the different month ship dates on their pages. It's just a poorly run business and yet people are still willing to hand them their paychecks.

It's false advertising to continuously have a final run.

Nowhere at no time did they ever claim they were only making 10 sets. You are just making things up now. What they did was allow people to place pre-orders, then they produced as many as people ordered. They clearly saw that there was still demand, so they are taking more orders. I see nothing wrong with that. Nothing sketchy, or dishonest. Frankly you are the only person who sees it that way. It's a niche market product, it would be idiotic and bad for business for them to just start cranking out thousands, only to have them sit on shelves.

There are TONS of knock off Recaros. And people do buy them. And people who don't want a shitty knock off buy the real thing. The CSRs are a reproduction of these by the very definition of the word. Maybe they're just as good of quality, but saying they're not a repro is a lie.

It is only false advertising if they intentionally deceived people, and again, you are the only person who feels that way. If they didn't plan on making more and later changed their minds, that is not false advertising.

I see nothing wrong with that. Nothing sketchy, or dishonest. Frankly you are the only person who sees it that way. It's a niche market product, it would be idiotic and bad for business for them to just start cranking out thousands, only to have them sit on shelves.
I bet 10 people here have carbon fiber skirts from the last run. I'm not saying make thousands...

I'm saying but the same product, cheaper, from a different company.

If Audi Germany was making and selling a certain wheel and Audi America was getting the wheels cheaper and selling them at a lower cost to its customers, why would you order from the more expensive place?

I wouldn't, if it was the exact same wheel (which as I'm sure you know, Audi doesn't make any of their own wheels). But like it or not your argument is more along the lines of OEM wheels vs VMRs. One is a rep, one is not. There is nothing wrong with that in and of itself. And people will be drawn to both sides for different reasons. But that doesn't discredit the original in any way.

The wheel was just an example. Two completely identical items (even made from the same pattern) one is more one is less. I think most people here are drawn to Relak because of their "rarity" but in fact they are not rare at all and CSR makes them daily.

You could get 10 CSR skirts for the cost of 2 Relak skirts. I'm sure people at local meets would be more than thrilled to have the opportunity to get their hands on a set.

Where is the $450 coming from? Relak sells their CF version for $375..
I have a hard time believing that you can easily throw CF on your self for $50. Taking it to a body shop to get clear coated alone would cost more than that. Unless you plan to spray can clear coat?

Also to keep this in mind, these are hand made products. Whether you make 1 or 50 cost is mostly in labor and remains relatively the same. If anything, making 100's to keep in inventory only drives costs and prices up as now you have cost of storage.

They are $375 plus shipping. About another $30-35 dollars, so not quite $450. CF is not hard at all. You can get a roll of 4" CF for about $15. (Edit: Even cheaper http://www.ebay.com/itm/131493767808...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT) You are all in California and use to getting ripped off for easy to do things I guess. Products like this can quickly and easily be vacuum formed.

I did read the posts, you said you could get 10 CSR skirts for the price of 2 relaks. 2*279.99 is 560. Now 560/10=56. Why are you lashing out at everyone in this thread? I am just offering to buy for what you said they were worth.

2 sets of carbon fiber side skirts are almost $1000. You can get 6 (sorry it's not 10) CSR skirts for $1200. There are too many idiots like you that don't want to have an actual discussion and it is hard to keep up.

Technically sure. But you can't slap an orange peel on an apple and call it an orange. You CAN carbon fiber your CSR drill a few holes and call it a Relak.

Not allowed to sell them here or BlackA4 will have to hit the ban button again, and I am tired of getting banned for trying to help people save money. I thought that was what communities were for.
