    The combustion event inside the cylinder must be carefully controlled to realize maximum power and efficiency. Upgrade to the 2.0T ignition coils to ensure your fuel mixture burns rapidly, thoroughly, and reliably, while enhancing the beauty of your engine bay.

    The stage I ECS Kit includes everything needed for the conversion: stainless steel hardware and a 2.0T Coil Pack Conversion Plate (3 color options). The stage II Kit adds aluminum Coil Pack Hold Downs (3 color options) to keep pressure on the coil pack—a simple and attractive solution to coils popping out of location.

    What is the difference between these and the hitachi e style coil packs?

    These are the latest revision coils. The Hitachi E style is considered obsolete now that the FSI coils are available. Though some people like the fact that the Hitachi E coils still bolt down. But our conversion kit offers coil pack tie downs in the Stage 2 kit which gives you the best of both worlds.

    Is it recommended to run spark plugs a step colder with these if your on a tune running 20psi?

    It's generally recommended to run colder plugs with a tune. FSI Coil packs alone don't require colder plugs.

    They do require running FSI plug gap though. 1mm IIRC.

    Seems to be a debated topic. I run the FSI coils at the 1.8T OEM spec gap and haven't experienced any issues. If anything I believe the FSI coils can allow you to open your gap a bit for a larger spark. But don't quote me on that, I'd have to do some digging to refresh my memory to confirm.
