Trunk won't open on my 2013 A6

Hey everyone,

I haven't posted in awhile, but I was hoping someone could help me out or at least point me in the right direction.

A few days ago, I went go open my trunk on my 2013 A6, first unlocking my car using my keys and then using the trunk release button on the actual vehicle, but it wouldn't open. I then tried using the unlock trunk button on my key and still no luck. The only way I am able to open the trunk currently is by crawling in from the back seats after unlatching and lowing them, and using the inside unlock lever. I've looked at the locking mechanism and nothing seems to be stuck or clogging the system either.

Has anyone ever experienced something like this or heard of anyone having this issue? Is there a way to fix this on my own or do I need to take it into the shop? Any advise is greatly appreciated!

See if you accidentally hit the "valet" button that should be in your glove box. I have a 2011 S4 but I'm pretty sure its in the same place. I did that once without knowing and went crazy trying to figure out what was wrong. Could be very simple

This. The valet button makes it so that when you hand over your fob (and keep the metal key) they can't open your trunk.

i was freaking out for a hot 30 minutes the other day...must've brushed the button when i was cleaning.... LOL - the worse part is you sit there and restart the car, but you never read whats on the console.... (VALET MODE ACTIVE)...LOLOLOLOL
