went to DD to get coffee today and while i was moving slow through the drive through near the wall noticed a rattle sounds like chains? but once i go out to real driving it went away. any idea i thought it could be a heat shield but it was not.

I'm having a similar issue in my B8 A4 as well. Started hearing it a couple days ago but haven't figured it out yet

Did you have loose change sitting in the ashtray? I could imagine that sound occurring if you were idling a little rough, and then disappearing when you started driving.

The only other logical explanation is that your car is haunted.

loose brake clip or dust shield. Mine has been doing this for 2 years on the passenger side. Cannot pinpoint it. its like a light chain/metal scrape/bounce sound.

Get your engine and transmission mounts checked. Also, the caliper gap- sometime during brake checks, they will leave the caliper gap pretty open, causing a rock to get trapped.

I feel like im experiencing the same thing, except only when driving 60+ on the highway and when I slightly turn the wheel to change lanes. Its like a high-pitched metal scraping sound. Not present at low speeds around town.... no clue what it is, but its annoying.
