Lightbulb C5 to C6 front end conversion. Can it be done?

    Hello good people of Audizine!

I recently purchased a pampered A6 2001 2,7 btq allroad (C5). Great car except for a moody transmission and ofc fuel economy..

My question though, is as follows:

Would I be able to swap the bonnet, fenders, bumper and headlights (basically the entire front end) directly from a 2007 allroad (C6), without extensive chassis modification?

I know someone who will sell me said parts for relatively cheap (1100 eur), and their condition is practically mint.

Am I stupid for even concidering this?

If anyone knows the answer, I'd be very greatful!

Lastly, I'm new on the forum, so If this post is in the wrong place please let me know

    Regards
    varntzberg

This isn't a good idea, appreciate the car for what it is and leave it at that.

    Enjoy the car!

They sell kits for this and IMO they look horrible and tacky. If you want a C6, buy a C6.

I am not talking about a kit, just transplanting the bodyparts directly. So, if they fit they fit..

Anyone have an example of said conversion of the allroad?

They don't fit directly by any stretch of the imagination, however with enough time/money/skill I'm sure they could be made to fit.

Nobody does. Because it looks tacky. People that own C5 cars are proud of what they are.

A few things about that swap. It was done in southeast Asia where labor is cheap, parts are cheap and cars are expensive. It doesn't look half bad but there's like 100 hours of labor to get to just that point.

Secondly the C5 is a much classier looking car than the C6, if kept in great condition it still looks brand new (I get asked all the time) so you should be proud of your car and maintain it as such.

Thirdly you're probably off out by the bumpers of the allroad, get those body matched instead and 402 it or go static and watch how good it looks.

And fourthly, your car is blessed with an amazing engine, don't waste money cutting it up and instead spend some money on an ecu upgrade and waste money on new tires instead :)

I haven't seen one C6 style front on a C5 that looked anything short of broke status.

The man simply asked if it could be done (or was done).
Not your opinion on what it looks like. Christ, half the people replying in this thread sound like a group of old hens sitting in the Salon waiting on their hair to dry.

    LOL.

He asked for our opinions as to if he was stupid for considering it or not. He got our opinions.

So you specifically glossed over the previous part where he asked about all the body part compatibility? And proceeded right to your opinion?
I bet you're fun at parties....
