I really like the Q3. I think it'd be a fine daily driver, especially in urban areas. Comfortable for four with decent cargo space, plenty of features, more than adequate performance. Drives and handles like an Audi. I was pleasantly surprised the first time I looked at and sat in one, and each subsequent experience has only reinforced that. Drive everything out there and see what works best for you, but I can't imagine you'd regret buying the Q3. Good luck.

Bought a 2015 for the wife just after I got my S3 in March. Looked at the X1 and GLA.

I've been pleasantly surprised with the Q3; good (not great) power but a very comfortable ride and really quiet on the highway. Looks nice compared to the competition and pretty well priced. Wife raves about it, which makes me happy. Mileage could be better, but all in all, no regrets. Just like the A3/S3 at the time, no memory seats and no HomeLink.

Might be the worst car in the current Audi lineup, but it's not bad.

I prefer my q5 but the q3 is still very nice. So long as you don't need leg room in the backseats, can't go wrong

I have one now as a loaner and its OK. It's small, limited cargo space, but nice ride for a DD. I've been wondering what the point of the q3 is though..my a4 avant is better in every way; more cargo space, better ride quality, faster, better handling, etc. Audi should just bring back the avant!

I also bought a 15 Q3 for my wife. She had to have it after driving it. It is a nice ride has good power and ride is comfortable. It would ride a little better on the 18's. She got the 19's and it rides a little stiffer. She loves it so it makes me happy. Her and my 4yr old son daily it with no complaints. All around good little car that I would recommend without any hesitation.

Oil consumption was mainly an issue on pre-facelift 2.0T's (2012 and before).

    thanks.

so we are good for this car. we just went to a dealership to see what they actually look like and they look good.
even tho the car is weak for its size my gf is fine with the power. that was one of the issues besides the horrible mpg we heard about. as for the size its actually perfect. she isn't very tall or wide so it fits her with lots of room to spare. the design is very nice. I heard that in Europe the power was bumped up by an extra 10hp. that would have been nice to see here for sure. the price is within budget. it is a lot for what one would get for the money but it isn't over the top for us.

    ill be ordering one asap.

Good for you. I now know two folks who have them, and they're very pleased. I'm actually impressed with the amount of room - both rear seat and cargo - for a vehicle of this size. I hope you and your girlfriend love it.

    hey thanks!

yeah we made a deal over the phone already and will be doing the order paperwork this weekend. we saw three at a local dealership and she was just loving the style. it didn't have all the goodies she wanted. hence, we are ordering it and making sure her car is exactly the way she wants it. I don't blame her as I ordered my 2015 S3 as well and am driving it all the time now. I get looks all time. I bet she will get all the looks as well because of the new color scheme that just came out. its very close to the sepang blue but lighter so it seems to be perfect for a girl.

i am willing to wager it's still an issue on post facelift models because i had one and within 5k miles i had to top off twice and the dealer took it back...
audi has not wrapped their head around this issue going back to the b6 2.0t every iteration of it is a pig and eats oil.

It's a great car. You won't regret it. I have a 2015 base model with 18"'s. It's a great ride. Bought it mainly for my long trips to and from the slopes in the winter. With proper winter tires, this thing is unstoppable. Gas mileage and power could be better. Might get it flashed with apr.

I read that its only available with the 6 speed auto?? Not the 8 speed and its available in FWD or AWD (haldex not torsen). Seems likely its based on the Tiguan chassis to me... Nice looking though, its on my list of possibles when I trade in the next 6 months.

Too bad you can't fit a rear-facing child seat in it unless the front passenger is from Lilliput.

I had a recaro proride rear facing in the middle while i had the Q3 as a loaner and it fit fine and I was comfortable @ 6'...behind the driver or front passenger though, I agree, it will be tight...car seat selection for the Q3 will be essential..Get your measuring tape out.

same here. in the middle works because of the cutout between the two seats otherwise it isn't very comfortable for the front passenger if it is directly behind the seat.
as you mentioned the seat itself makes a huge difference. i usually go for the european seats since they're made for smaller vehicles and children. they also do not have ridiculous prints or ugly colors.

I am debating strongly between the 2016 Q3 I have now driven twice and the new BMW X1 (2016 redo). I had a 2007 A3 for over 6 years which I LOVED and I actually like the 2014 X1 I leased after that but it doesn't have AWD, leather, proximity key nor Xenon lighting, all of which are important to me (we bought a cabin in the mountains so AWD is now a must, especially as opposed to RWD!)...I get, slightly, the underpowered of the Q3 but I've been an APR software fan for a long time and, even here in CA with only 91 octane, the SW would bump hp to at least 240hp which, I would imagine, will transform that small a vehicle. My only hesitation is the "older" technology in the Q3 versus other Audi's (old 2.0, no DSG)...any thoughts? The new X1 could be really nice through it will, of course not be the same RWD based with AWD but their entirely new FWS platform...

We were waiting on the 2016 X1 also but after seeing a recent dealer review on YT , where the price for a fully loaded X1 was approaching $55K, the Q3 proved too much of a package to ignore.

Add to the fact the strong community- either here or on various VW sites - that can support the Q3 platform plus the numerous vendors out there that can enhance the performance, I don't doubt this is a strong buy for certain demographics.

& Now it appears the Q3 is not slated to be redesigned until 2018 earliest - I think it should build a strong following these preceding years.

    No - 2 negatives are:

    1) No memory seat
    2) Homelink is an option for 2016

    Every other box got ticked.

Ha-ha thanks. Looking at one for my wife. The issue is she has an A5 now lol, almost paid off. It's been quite reliable and sexy and fun.

Need the utility of the Q5, can't give up the awesomeness of the A5.

Probably just get some Whispbar racks for the S4 instead lol.

Honestly i think the q3 beat every other competition in design(x1 or gla) utility or functionality.... none will be so adequate in any option u choose from above.

Overall i think its a good vehicle thinking of getting it for my wifey when the time comes

It's incredible how little discussion there is of the Q3 online. Besides the missing memory seat option, the Q3 checks all the boxes to replace my wife's aging X3.

The newer X3s are too big and soft, same with the Q5. The Q3 feels like a direct replacement for our first generation X3, light and nimble. Liked it a lot when I had one as a service loaner for my S4.

I don't see many Q3s on the street either. Anyone have any sales figures?
