19in Wheels on B7 S4 Avant with stock suspension?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Cant really find a definite answer to this, but can I fit 19in wheels on my B7 S4 Avant with just my stock suspension? Not interested in doing anything to the suspension but would like the look of bigger wheels. What does that do to the ride also?

Yes they will fit. Ride quality will suffer a little bit depending on what size tire you go with. 235/35/19 will keep the speedo the same as stock wheels but you'll definitely feel more of the road with them. Also, slower acceleration with 19's as well.

I haven't looked through in a while but I believe there's at least a sedan if not an avant with 19's and stock:

Sure u can, i have it on B6... ET29 and 235/35 at front and 245/35 at rear... have some rubbing problem with rubbing but i got used to it..
Speeding is a little bit slower but not that bad.. ride quality is quite same as on 18"...

Interesting. So would it be best to go with 18s for just bit of a bigger wheel without too much change in acceleration and speedo?

Also, I see that sedan you were talking about. It says under Fender Mods, Front half rolled. What does that mean?

If you run your fenders on the inside of the front fenders you'll feel there's a lip. If you then go to the back you'll feel it's almost flat vertical. Fender rolling is taking that lip and rolling it up to the fender to make a little bit more clearance for wider/lower offset wheels.

Gotcha. Thanks for explaining that. What is the process to do that? Would that be something that is mandatory in order to run 19s on a stock suspension?

Nope, it's not mandatory. It all depends on how crazy an offset that you are looking to run. If you're looking for your wheels to be completely flush with the fenders and you live in a crazy bumpy area you might want to have them done/do them yourself. But on a stock suspension you shouldn't have to worry about it at all. I'm on stock suspension with B5 perch springs and run a really wide wheel (RS4 wheel) and I don't have my fenders rolled. My last B5 was lowered and I needed my fenders rolled and pulled out a little. All depends but stock you don't need to worry about it.

That looks much better. There is just too much butt sag with the OEM suspension otherwise, which is exacerbated by the big wheels with small tires.

The spring perch sits on your front OEM shocks holding the coil spring. When using the B5 perches they allow the springs to sit lower thus dropping the front end by about 5/8". It is just enough to make the car look better without going the the expense of coilovers or lower springs.

Das Audi, your Avant looks gorgeous, whose wheels are you running and at what width & et?

OP, b5 perches apparently won't work with after market struts, should you choose to get into an adjustable strut down the road. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...s-or-Coilovers

I see. That sounds like a great way to fix that fender gap. Thanks for letting me know. BTW, like that Avant! I got the same but in Dolphin Grey. Looking to purchase a Miltek exhaust here real soon and those are the same wheels I want to try to pick up. Those suckers are expensive though.
