I like it, but I'm surprised that Audi followed the market by switching to that type of nav screen. I could be wrong, but it doesn't appear to be capable of being hidden. As expected, it's an evolution of Audi's clean, elegant, and ergonomic interior design. I'll take my next Audi with a different interior color (black or brown), decorative inlays (aluminum or carbon fiber), and sport steering wheel.

From what I heard , the screen was supposed to be retractable. I personally like it and am glad to see them bringing all the great tech to the B9 platform. I was worried only the C/D segment cars would get it. (with exception of the TT's virtual cockpit)

It seems to have vents that go all the way across the dash. That should help cool the car more thoroughly.

One of the things that was a little off-putting in the new R8 which carried over to the A4 was the drive selector. The video I linked to above made a very interesting point: it acts as a wrist rest. This is a great idea, as I tend to want to have something in my cup holder to act as one.

I'm also digging the interior. I never liked the B8 'comfort' seats, and these look far more luxurious. I'm also happy to see the interior has a few more options besides black for the dash.

Bring on the S and RS variants!

It looks very nice, but as others have said, too BMW-ish. I'm also really getting fed up with this trend of making nav displays look like stuck-on tablets. Audi is only the most recent offender.

The virtual cockpit cluster and HUD are hotness though.

And that mid-dash screen...what the fuck? Please tell me that's a photoshop of "the general area where it will be" because that looks like the most ridiculous afterthought I've ever seen.

mmi button placement is so you can rest your wrist on the shifter and easily operate the MMI. The center screen does look like an after thought and would take some getting used to, but with the interior designed the way it is, there's not room in the console to put a 12" screen. To mold the dash around it would seem worse.

As tacky as it is, it's still not as bad as that giant mess they stuck in the Tesla. That thing looks like a bad aftermarket retrofit. All it needs is 26" wheels and TVs in both trunks.

If you read some of the articles out there, manual transmission will be offered. In the case of manual transmission, the MMI control knob is actually in front of the shifter instead of behind like in the automatics.

When I bought my 2015, I was wondering if I should have waited, kind of happy I didn't. I agree with others that it's bmw-ish. I think the giant vents look cheap, the steering wheel is too off putting and the ipad nav screen is a silly trend that they shouldn't have have copied. Oh and if you watch the video, the gear select is not a wrist rest unless you are Gumby lol.

The new position allows the screen to be closer to the driver's line of sight. That is why most manufacturers are choosing this mounting location. If the dash were to be extended to enclose the screen's new location it would be need to be gigantic.

Overall, I think the interior looks better than it does in the current model.

The MMI knob placement seems weird but I do like that the auto/s-tronic shifter acts as a wrist rest.

I dunno. I think BMW did a nice job integrating a big display on the 5 series.

That's better but I'd still prefer this placement for the auto as well or off to the side like it is on the BMW.
