Brake upgrade options for the B8 S4?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I've been thinking about potentially upgrading the front brakes on my S4 for some time now.

The stock brakes seem to be adequate for a daily driver use but i am somehow not impressed that Audi decided to go with a single piston caliper on the S4.
Not sure if it's just my opinion, but a car with this weight and performance capabilities should have been outfitted with larger, more robust brake system.
Oh, and yes, i absolutely hate the amount of brake dust the front and rear OEM pads produce. Hopefully a good set of non-OEM pads will address this issue.

So, here is the big question. Aside from the commercially available BB Kits from companies like Brembo or StopTech ... what other larger calipers are direct "bolt on" on our B8 cars??
Any Porsche models' brakes that can be easily installed? Q5 / Q7 brakes? A8/S8 brakes? Other Audi/VW options?

    Thanks!

The factory brakes with upgraded pads and/or rotors is definitely an improvement, but it really depends on what you want to do with the car. I always have and always will recommend StopTech brake parts because their price point is affordable and the performance is far superior to the factory setup in every way. The big brake kits are also much lighter than the factory brakes, something you wont get when switching to an up sized OEM upgrade such as a Q5 setup, and the pricing wont be too far off in the end either.

If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

We have just about every option you could possibly ask for when it comes to brakes. Everything from your standard OEM replacements, to big brake kits.

Below are a few of our most popular options.

ECS Service Kit featuring GEOMET rotors and Hawk HPS pads.

    ECS Stage 1 kit

    ECS Stage 2

    ECS RS Stage 3

*RS Stage 3 kit currently back ordered due to calipers

    ECS Porsche Stage 3

    ECS Stage 4

We also carry kits from the following companies as well:

    APR <--- Click me

    StopTech <--- Click me

    Brembo <--- Click me

I personally would recommend the ECS Stage 2 kit with the 4 piston calipers and 2 piece ECS rotors, it's one of the best kits on the market for the money!

Let me know if you have any questions.

If your never going to track the car other than like once a year. I would go with the Q5 setup you get 4 piston and upgraded pads and rotors. There is a Porsche setup that bolts right up but its expensive and requires a lot of work. The Q5 version of the Porsche suv "cant think of the name right now" But a guy on here did a whole write up on it and everything. Everything bolts right up but its a lot of parts needed.

What about Adam's Rotors? I know it's not a BBK, but they're suppose to be a good OEM size upgrade. I think they use Stoptech pads too?

I've heard a lot of bad stuff about Adams. Mostly service related and long delays in getting rotors. Nice options but the hassle is never with it

Good to know. I wasn't going to go the BBK route and had been seriously considering Adam's rotors, but if that's the case I may look elsewhere.

Congrats, you're going to love it!! Did you order track pads yet? I am still enjoying my Pagid RS-29's, plenty of other options though.

Pass on those, you are better off going a different route.

Brake upgrade options for the B8 S4?

My apologies everyone, but a side question. When I did all my brake system upgrades, I installed the brake wear sensor, but I noticed once while tooling through VCDS, that I found an option somewhere for Brake Wear Sensor to be unchecked. I assume that I won't get any warnings on the dash due to it, or are there multiple places for this feature to be enabled in VCDS and I'm alright? Again, my apologies, but thank you all for your help!
