Just so people are aware. I had the TSB completed on my 2014 S-line TDI and it corrected the knocking in my sunroof, for a few months. It's back with a vengeance. I went to back to the dealer, they decided they will replace the entire sunroof frame. It will be getting the work done in August when I return to the dealership. 400+kms away.

hey everyone. I finally got my pano roof frame changed out at the local dealer for a constant rattle. Apparently this is a common issue with the Q7 and Q5 pano roofs. I must say that after two weeks of use and about 1000kms I haven't heard a thing. The entire change took two days and I rode around in an A6 2.0t. Nice car, but it was no Q7 TDI.

I recently purchased a 2013 Q7 TDI and am also having the sunroof noise issue...creaking while driving. I took in for service under warranty and they say they removed, lubricated and reinstalled the sunroof. The noise went away for about a week and I started to hear it one day over a cobblestone parking lot access road. I found that when I opened and closed the rear tilt-up roof, it stopped for a few days.

Now it creaks all the time, but if I open the rear tilt-up it's quiet (other than some wind noise associated with an open roof .) When I close it the creaking starts again. This leads me to believe that the issue is the rear sunroof, but maybe I shouldn't assume that??

Does anyone have any experience with a solution to this issue? I tried cleaning the rubber seals today hoping it would quiet down, but no luck. Is there anything a DIY'er can do periodically to resolve this? I'd like to be sure I can keep up with this after the warranty.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Is it still good? My roof is creaking and I've done all the regular first step stuff like lubing ams massaging the rubbers. I'm pretty sure it's the solid piece of glass making the noise. If it just comes back all the time I'm not gonna bother fixing it. If there is a fix that's permanent I will do it.

Pretty sure mine is affected by this issue, going to vent mode does seem to alleviate some of the noise, but I've only done a quick test and haven't been able to ride in the back while somebody is driving.

Yes. It freezes and that's what you're hearing. I just had my track replaced and when it's really cold it creaks but it's different from the track noise.

Yes. moisture freezes and the glass doesn't flex with the metal and it makes noise. If u crack both roofs and close them again it helps.

I had this problem with my Q7. The rear glass would rattle when popped open. Drove me nuts!!!! I had it fixed under warranty.

The first attempt to fix it, the dealer installed a modification kit..shims...lube...something like that. Whatever they did, it didn't work! or not for long anyway.

Took it back and they replaced the entire frame. it's an expensive part and takes a while to do, so I hope you have warranty on your vehicle if you are experiencing this problem.
