I had this car since November and I still don't know if I have it.

Although I hardly ever use the wiperblade spray at night.

I could be wrong, but I believe only the prestige cars have them (unless you have a package that spec'ed it). I have a premium and even though it has the cutouts in the bumper for headlight washers, they are just glued in place

Just pull the stalk longer than 3 seconds and it should activate. I still don't understand why you wouldn't just try it. If it works you have it, if it doesn't you don't.

yeah but you're in Canada, so there's a greater chance my car lacks it. Since your 8V has amber tail signals, auto-engine, white side markers, etc..

I honestly don't have time to setup a camera at night and try to test this, I just want to know if anyone else here with an 8V premium plus here in the US can confirm they have it.

I rather GTFI here. This thread is not about the owners manual, now run along.

Accept my condolences. I didn't realize DOT outdated rules are common in Canada too.

I don't believe I have the headlamp washer, I squeezed that spray handle pretty long and frequently last night and I don't think anything happened at the headlamp, it still was dirt spotty.

I have an A3 Premium Plus and a S3 Premium Plus. The S3 has headlight washers, The A3 does not.

A manual won't tell him if he has them, it will just tell him how to operate them IF EQUIPPED.

    Setup a camera at night?

    WTF?

They are activated when the headlights are ON.....doesn't have to be night for you to turn that little switch to ON. I know I have the S3, but mine activate during the day....and no camera needed, they spray all over. You hear them activate and you can see the spray.

Turn your headlights on, drive down the road and pull that spray handle and hold it. If you hear loud whirring and see spray flying off the front of the hood and fenders (and if the headlights are dripping when you pull over), then you have them.

I don't have them. I confirmed after a dog who was contemplating giving up on life had knocked out one of my fog light bumper blanks giving me an opportunity to look in their with my own eyes and see that there's nothing there.

I took a snapshot with my smartphone. See:

It turns out none of the A3's (at least in America) have the headlamp washers. But the S3's do. Wonder why Audi made that decision?

I managed to spray myself with the headlight washers the other night on my S3... I was standing outside on the driver's side wiping down the windshield and I told my wife who was in the car to pull the wiper lever to get some juice on the windshield, and out pops the headlamp washers with their ridiculous spraying power, spraying all over me, the hood, and oh yeah the headlight too I guess.
