Royal Purple oil

Hey guys,

I would like to know if anyone out there has used Royal Purple in their Audi. Yes I know Royal Purple does not conform to the VW/Audi specs because Royal Purple will not pay European OEM licenses required licensing fees from designated raw material suppliers. I am changing my oil in a couple of weeks and I have used Royal Purple for almost 10 years and never had any negative issues. What do guys think. Thank you in advance for your comments.

With Motul, Liquimoly, Pentosin, and Amsoil readily available in correct spec I cant think of any reason to use royal purple...its nothing special.

No negative issues with these oils that are VW spec, so no reason to try one that isn't. If RP wants to sell oil that we'd put in our cars, they would be better off getting the certification.

I use royal purple in my A4 and it runs well, just make sure you get the right kind, I used 5W-40

I have used Royal Purple on 4 different Audi models when I owned them and never had a problem. I'm using Motul now though on my most recent one.

Is Royal Purple an ester-blend or PAO? Does it meet the VW 505 spec or do you just hang from the nuts of Royal Purple?

I ran Royal Purple in my Chevys and never had any problems, but I stick with Mobil1 for my Audi. My father instilled a real "Mobil1 beats all" mindset when I was a kid.

Never in cars. Which is funny because I use Motul in both my yzf450 and my r1.
