A dealer outside of Boston just priced me a 2015 S4 with the following specs. MSRP $58780, and came down to $52900, including the loyalty incentive. Good deal or should I push for more?

Exterior Color: E9E9 Sepang Blue pearl effect
    Interior Color: ZM Black
Options: 5MK Inlays - Carbon Atlas
6W3 Front License Plate - Holder
9VK Bang & Olufsen Sound System
    9ZW Audi Connect
AMI iPod Cable For Audi Music Interface - no charge
    GH2 quattro with sports differential
    PNY Technology package
PQ6 Wheel & Tire package - see order guide for details
WL2 Audi Guard wheel lock kit

    Estimated Total MSRP $58,780
2015 Audi S4, P+, Sepang Blue, Carbon Fiber Inlays, Black optic pkg, rear sports diff

I got the same car/options, except Daytona Grey and extended nappa leather, in August last year for ~$52k. You can probably do better, especially with the '16s around the corner.

I was able to get 12.5% off msrp on my 2015 from having two dealerships try and beat each other(56500 msrp down to 49500). I think you are doing pretty well. There may be a tiny bit of meat left on the bone but you could do much worse. Mike

8.3% discount (before loyalty discount) is OK, at best, for the Boston area. As mentioned, you should be shooting for 10%+ off MSRP (before loyalty discount), especially with 2016s hitting lots soon.

A couple more phone calls will probably save a couple thousand more dollars .

    Also factor in the following:
Audi Care (a MUST in my opinion)
    Extended warranty
    Wheel/Tire Protection

There are more but I can't remember. Depending on your needs/wants, you may need some or all. I'd definitely recommend getting at least the Audi Care. If you are the type to keep your car for the long haul, definitely get the extended warranty.

I just mention these because you definitely want to incorporate them into the price and factor in the MSRP discounts with those included.

And congrats on having your other one "totaled" and being able to step into a new one!

it all depends on competition in your area. 10% you are getting off MSRP is a good price

If you are willing to wait a little bit (not sure what your situation is), you might be able to order a 2016 for similar pricing. I ordered mine last week. A newer model for same price could be worth a little bit more 5 years from now.

I found another 2015 with similar specs but it's coming down to Sepang Blue with fine Nappa leather and old style peelers vs Brilliant Black with black alcantara and the high gloss package and 19" V-style rims. Both have tech, diff, B&O audio. Can't decide bewtween the two but I'm pretty confident I can get the dealers to 51K.

If I were you I'd get what you want, not settle for something just because it's a bit cheaper. Sepang blue is beautiful, hard to say no to that ;)

I'm leaning more towards the Sepang blue. Even though I hate the thought of the Nappa leather getting beat up after a couple years. Unfortunately, I don't have the luxury of time where I could build a 2016 model. I need a new car within a week or two.

16% off after factoring in equity from trade and loyalty (factory money) isn't the same as 16% off MSRP from a dealer discount. Are you saying you got 16% off and then had equity and factory cash applied to the resulting price, reducing it further, or does the 16% discount include benefits from trade-in equity and loyalty?

Yes, I oversimplified a bit. 16% includes everything. Msrp was 57, paid 47. 2.5k of that was positive equity.

Sepang and Daytona were my two top choices, so I would go for Sepang over Brilliant Black.

Whatever color you go with, I would definitely recommend going directly to Rick at UCC in Stoneham for an Xpel clear bra (and a full deatiling and OptiCoat). He is a really nice guy and does amazing work.

I'm going to be needing this. I can't find anywhere up near where I'll be living that does opticoat or cquartz. Is this something I could drop the car off and pick up the same day?

It probably depends on what you have done, but Xpel/Opti with a full deatiling (the dealer gave me free some swirl marks) required about 36 hours. He lives right around the corner from the shop, so he met me on the Sunday afternoon when I picked up the car and it was ready Monday night. I think "uksam" on AZ also had about a 36-hour turnaround, which included everything I did plus tinted windows.

Well, while I was waiting for the insurance company to finalize the total on my old S4, the dealer called me and told me the car sold already. To my surprise, they said they located another S4 with identical specs except it has the black optic package and alcantara seats instead of Nappa leather. MSRP somewhere around $56700, their best and final is $52000. They're claiming they can't go any lower because they don't actually have the car on the lot.

Well tell them to throw in Audicare since you do not know the upfront "condition" of the car and the wheel protection package to guarantee you a piece of mind. I mean that sounds like a good deal for the Boston area but I try to get them down to 50k at least before loyalty. If you can not try to also get them to clear bra the entire car for you, for no extra cost....this would equate to lowering the car further as well.

So I got duped by the dealer. He was supposed to do a swap on a Sepang S4 but he still hasn't been able to secure it. I found what I want, Sepang, diff, tech, B&O, carbon inlay, and black optics package, MSRP $58325, dealer lowest offer is $52925 all in. Another dealer 150 miles away offered me a Daytona grey with diff, carbon inlays and 19" rims MSRP $57120, offered at $49300.

To make things more complicated, the Sepang dealer is saying that he has someone from Maine driving to see it tomorrow at 11am.

    Can't decide!! Help!

    A. Figure out the color(s) and options you want
    B. Figure out how much of a discount you need to feel like you got a good deal
    C. Call the dealer when you find a car, agree on a price, and give them a refundable deposit over the phone
    D. Go in and buy the car

It seems like you are suffering from paralysis by analysis on this purchase since you are still stuck on A...

I sell them and there's only 6% markup + incentives. Hopefully if you are getting these deals you are giving perfect surveys.

I hear that. I felt good getting mine for $1800 under sticker. Of course I traveled 300 miles to pick it up, so they knew I wanted it. haha

2015s with damping suspension and sport diffs are scarce. If this deal fell through I was going to order a 2016, but I really wanted the car for summer.

I sell them and there's only 6% markup + incentives. Hopefully if you are getting these deals you are giving perfect surveys.

2015s with damping suspension and sport diffs are scarce. If this deal fell through I was going to order a 2016, but I really wanted the car for summer.
My store sells most S model cars at sticker--> 3% + Incentives. Very rarely do we go all the way to 6% + incentives on one.

All you are doing really is destroying the resale value of the vehicles when dealers are agreeing to sell them cheap in my mind.
