    Tow Hook License Plate

Let me start off by saying, yes I know there are a bunch of other topics on this in other model specific categories, but I couldn't find one for the 8v's.

So it took forever and a day (three months exactly) to get pulled over for running no front plate in VA .... thankfully got out of the ticket by saying I needed to order some import part from Germany to get it mounted on the front grille, and he bought it.

But I don't need a reason to get pulled over again, so I'm looking into getting a two hook plate. So I would love to hear your opinion and thoughts on which kits you guys are running on your cars/past cars and why. I see a multitude of different kits for sale and just trying to narrow it down.

    Thanks!

While you are looking for a solution, I would recommend just ziptieing the plate to the front of your car for now. Either that, or stick it behind the front windshield.

But to answer your question, I thought the tow hook was the same between most Audi models? Not sure what the thread size is for the tow hook, but that's all you should need to worry about.

Yeah its behind the front windshield right now, state trooper claimed it would decapitate my passenger...

Anyways, not worried about thread size, more which brand people have gone with and why

I have a us mill works license plate tow hook mount. It's awesome. You can adjust however you want to move it out of the way of your grill and what not.

Everyone raved about the Rho-Plate when I had a Volvo C30, never got one, but am considering one once I get my plates. Also height adjustable and anyway adjustable.

It fits perfectly and it is super, super easy to install.

It is also a little cheaper than the other systems.

    The material is high quality.

There is one small thing though and that is you cannot adjust the height or the horizontal location of the plate.

    Here is a pic:

And, if you have the parking front sensors, it MIGHT interfere with it once in a while but you get used to it.
