    Bluetooth in your Audi B6

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey guys,

I recently had a 6-speed swap done, and now i'm interested in a bluetooth receiver in my audi and the standard head unit. I"m curious if any of you have added a bluetooth unit to your standard system, bluetooth that uses an aux port, or a different head unit. Can you hear well when someone calls you, and do they hear you well on the other side? Cheap addon or not worth it? Any opinion welcome.

    Thanks.

Did you have to purchase the Symphony II+ unit or did it come with your car?

Or go the better route and get an aftermarket double din with USB for music and add the bluetooth mic

I am pretty sure the only way you can use the stock Bluetooth is with the RNSE. I know you can use it with the symphony 2+ But you will need a multi function steering wheel to make and answer calls. I am uncertain if the symphony 2 is even compatible with the Bluetooth module. (It may be but will still require a MFSW for functionality.)

Also the factory Bluetooth isn't that amazing compared to most newer cars. I would only consider if it you definitely want to keep a factory look

So you just replaced your head unit with an aftermarket double din with all the bells and whistles there already?

I'm using (and have been using) an OEM setup with my RNS-E for five or six years. It works well enough - I can make/receive calls easily and clearly (although the BT in my BMW is much better, but the car is also nine years newer). I went with an OEM setup because there weren't many aftermarket options at the time - nowadays, the choice is a bit tougher.

They can hear me pretty well. There is a microphone level adjustment that shows on the screen when you are on a call with a + and - button so you can increase or decrease the mic sensitivity. Mine is set to +7 I believe. The mic is mounted above the steering column at the bottom of the gauge cluster trim. So I just speak and its in the direction of my voice while driving. I only take a couple calls per week while commuting but it's much easier than holding a phone to your head or trying to hear on a speaker phone while holding a phone and trying to deal with traffic.
