    S-Tronic DSG Transmission Fluid Change

I haven't been able to locate specific details for a DIY transmission fluid change on an Audi S6 / S7 DSG S-tronic transmission. No interest in DIY on this?

I'm assuming the procedure is the same as the S4/S5 and that the transmission is in the 0B5 family.

This posting is a little out dated but before I go off creating another one on the same subject... does anyone have the torque values for the internal filter (if secured with bolts), drain plug(s), and the ATF oil pan?? Thank you.

Yea, I’m doing this as part of my 60k servicing. I just need to know the torque specs for the bolts etc.

I just did my DSG service last weekend. Didn’t write up a DIY as I was a little time constrained and heading to the beach that afternoon. But to answer your question the torque values are:

    - Transmission Pan Bolts 9nm
    - Drain plug and fill plug 45nm
    - Internal filter is not bolted in place
    - External filter says 10nm but good luck getting a torque wrench on it and there are locator teeth on it that tell you when it is spun far enough
    - I also removed the cross member 90nm + 180 degrees and the ATF cooler lines (just the gearbox fluid side, not the coolant side) 9nm

    Steps I took:
    - Remove cross brace (car must be supported from the jack points with no load on suspension)
    - Remove sight plug (fill plug). Do this first to make sure you can refill it before you drain it.
    - Remove drain plug and let drain for a while
    - to access the external filter it is easier if you pull he two lines from the ATF cooler on that side
    - Unscrew cap on external filter and pull out filter element
    - Drop the transmission oil pan
    - Remove internal filter by siding it down and toward the back. Be sure the rubber seal on the neck comes out with it.
    - Remove the gasket from the pan and clean it all up.
    - install new internal filter
    - install pan with new gasket and tighten drain plug with new washer
    - insert new external filter element
    - install external filter cap until locating teeth click and grab (some models have a separate locating clip)
    - re-insert lines into ATF Cooler (replace o-rings on them)
    - fill with DSG fluid until it starts to come out and then just insert fill plug by hand a couple of threads
    - plug in OBDEleven or VCDS and connect
    - start car and run through the gears P, R, N, D with foot on the brake for several minutes while monitoring trans fluid temp with OBDEleven or VCDS. When temp reaches between 38C and 50C shut the car off.
    - pull fill plug and fill again until fluid starts coming out.
    - install fill plug and torque it down.
    - install cross brace
    - clean up and feel accomplished

The DSG fill tank that I bought would not hold pressure so I made my own gravity feed system which worked well at about 1/4 the cost.

Blauparts sells a nice DSG kit but you have to buy the external filter separately

    Hope this helps

Yep it’s on the same side as the fill plug right near it.
    Part numbers:
    - External Filter 0B5.325.330.A
    - Filter Cap 0B5.325.240.C
    - Gasket WHT003379
