    Oil change problems

So this is the second time I've changed my oil on the car since I got it. It's a 2009 b8 a4 2.0T and I got the old oil out and the new oil in then I go to change my oil filter and I come across this

So I can't screw in my new filter. They're both mann w719/45 oil filters so I'm not sure what's going on.

I don't know if the screw in part is stuck in the car or if I should try and take the one off of my new filter

Alright well did some deep thinking and if the new filter comes the screw in piece I figured the old just didn't come out with the filter. So I unscrewed it from the engine with some pliers

    Crisis averted

Yeah it happens all the time, no big deal. Don't be such a drama queen because people don't respond to your thread within 15 minutes.

That's what I was gonna recommend. Sounds like it might have been tightened a bit too much on your last change...

    Glad you fixed it.

Yeah im glad too. I'm not sure if it was that or maybe mann filters just aren't top quality. I usually tighten it by hand as much as I can

That's happened to me 3 times. Had it on Mann filter and an STP filter. I usually grab the threaded piece in the oil filter housing with some pliers and unscrew it then just put the new one on. I freaked out the first time until I realized what happened

This only happens if you over tighten the filter. Tighten it by hand but make sure you're not putting your all into it lol
