    Milltek exhaust clamp alternatives

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello,

My car has had it's Milltek cat back exhaust system on it for over 10 years. The exhaust clamps are rusted out and I had my first one fall off. What do you guys recommend for replacements?

All the local parts stores have cheaper looking ones, compared to the clamps that come with the Milltek system. I want to say my exhaust is 3 inch. Here's a stock image of the Milltek clamps:

This is more along the lines of what the local parts stores have in stock. Without wasting money on doing my own test.....are these sufficient, or a waste of money?

I highly suggest not using the u bolt style clamps. They will deform the pipe, Napa/O'Reily or any other parts stores should have the t-bolt style exhaust clamps or even band clamps.

If it's a slip fit connection, use one of these type...

Torca is cool because you thread into the clamping peice, and not a bolt with nut type deal.

Autozone sells clamps similar to these.

There will be differences. Mainly quality. Actually...only quality. But you get what you pay for.

Thank you, I would like to stick with the T style, over the U clamps. I'll check Napa and O Reilly, I didn't see anything big enough on Autozone's site.

Maybe check into a muffler shop and see if they can do a v band setup?

I used Acuseal style exhaust clamps (or similar) for slip fit connections when I had a miltek system.

Those actual Milltek clamps can be ordered.

I went through the same thing less than a year ago, and was told by Milltek that any of their dealers can get them for you. I just quickly checked my e-mails but couldn't find exactly where I got them. Will try and look for an invoice at home later and let you know.

Mine are all leaking. im guna weld all the connections together evrywhere but one set of the clamps on the downpipes. Then cut that out and put in a nice v band clamp setup so it wont leak again and still be able to pull it aparrlt and off vehicle when doing work.

Griffin Motorwerke is where I got them. I think they have individual clamps listed on their website (www.g-werke.com), but I got the entire "kit" for much cheaper than buying separately. I'd give them a call.

I can get you the clamps Milltek sends with their kits if you want to put on what came off. Just shoot me a PM
