    Has anyone tried these??

This same company makes the facelift tail lights for the pre-facelift as well.

    Also very interested in these.

I saw the DIY's for the xenon swap but there is no way I can do something like that personally.

If there is a ready to go kit that I can bring to a shop and they can install without too much labor, I'd totally be down!

By the way, if these are like the tail lights, then they'd be a direct plug and play.

Could someone tell me which headlights I have at the moment?

It's the most basic premium ones, the ones that look like a standard incandescent light bulb (the yellow ones)

How come that one isn't available for 2012 models? Did they change the headlights for 2012?

    Thanks for finding it though!

IMHO I think they look a little weird... and that amber marker just sticks out like a sore thumb lol. They must have just come up with these ones recently cause I didn't see them when I bought my tails.

The OE HID/LED swap can be done for about $1200, I can send a parts list if it would be helpful. Aside from the parts you just need to code it with VCDS.

I don't think they look that bad for a non-OEM option.

for the price i'd rather get the OEM ones. but to be honest, otherwise they look pretty decent for aftermarket, usually the aftermarket ones you see look like crap, but this looks closer to OEM than those. the lower part shape reminds me of the pre-facelift A5 lights. but overall these aren't so bad looking, but yea for that price not sure if it's worth all that.

Too many exposed wires in my mind. The plastics don't look like they would hold up in the long run either.

This company makes a wide range of aftermarket headlights (both OEM style and tuner style). I've ran a few sets of their projector headlights on my Eclipse and my only negative review on them, is that the lens clearcoat always peeled and oxidized after about 1.5 years. I'm actually on my second set and needing a third pretty soon.

Aside form that they've always help up structurally for the entire lifespan, and performed well in lighting. They never leaked or condensed on me.

When I get another set, I plan to have an additional layer of clear applied to help the longevity.

Maybe its just me, but I personally like the 09-12 headlights better than the 13+

Hi there, I bought a 2010 audi a4 for my son's first car.
The sellers kinda pulled wool over our eyes and said they swapped the grille to upgrade for new grille and headlights. (i'm guessing it was a small accident now).
However the bottom line is that there are the LED lights and newer headlights in it and the computer is erroring on them and the LED's flash some times. I'm not sure what is supposed to be happening and how to fix.
The question is, if modern headlights are put in the 2010 A4, does the computer usually accept them or is there an error that you just have to live with?
Thanks in advance. Just trying to get it safe for him to drive.
    all the best.
    Mike

There are no LED headlamps. There are the halogen headlamps, then the "bixenon" HID headlamps. The halogen headlamps tend to use some bulb as the DRL; the HID headlamps have an LED based DRL, and have a DRL control module as well as the HID power module on the headlamp.

If the car is new to you, you might as well start with a VCDS autoscan and see what comes up. "computer is erroring" is not the complete unabridged DTC text that would tell others what the J519's actual complaint is. If you don't have VCDS, then just pay someone else to fix the situation. You can't self-maintain/self-fix a B8 without the necessary tool kit. If you don't have a Windows laptop, only mobile devices, OBDeleven is a workable fallback. But certainly not my preference.

What are the part numbers that are on the headlamp housings in the car currently?

Thanks, we took it to an auto-electric shop and I determined he was a bit shady as well (trying to upsell headlights for costs that didn't match up on line). So I do need to take it to a trusted mechanic to have them use the 'vcds autoscan'. yes, the headlight itself is not LED but there is a bar of lights that blink at the lower base of the unit, which I just assumed was LED. These turn off when the blinker is actuated. I will check the part number on the current headlights tonight. Thanks for your response.

I'm having difficulty attaching the pictures of the headlight numbers my son sent. I don't know how to make a URL to the location of the images and can't cut and paste as JPG's.

I believe this is the part number?: 00DCR OOHC ODHR.
If that's not the part number let me know and I'll continue to hunt. :)

    Thanks again.

If you need to link to the pics, you need to put them somewhere you can link to. I use imgur.com for that. If you have the actual JPG files, you can just upload them. You have to "Go Advanced" and then Manage Attachments to attach image files to a post. The insert image button is just for linking URLs.

    So that one is 8K0 941 004 R

Yes, the strip of LEDs for the DRL function in the HID headlamp is driven by a control module on the headlamp.

Looks good. Though yeah, those are the regulatory compliance markings, not too useful for our purpose here.

I guess the sticker is actually under the lock carrier bar, so it might not be so obvious, especially if it is under a lot of dirt.

I guess the question remains, are these actual Audi OE headlamps in the car. Or are they some third-party aftermarket? If they are third-party, you'll likewise have to find some manner of product identification.

When he looks at the 14-pin plug on the headlamp, are there wires on 1, 2, 3, and 4. Or on 1, 2, 4, and 14? (there are other wires on various pins 5 through 13, they are not of interest for this question)
